All the staff are lovely and the singing tutors are very experienced. They really know how to teach and progress vocal skills through lessons that are great value, enjoyable and rewarding. Their annual Box Fest is a fun event to either participate in or enjoy watching. The Musical Box premises are easy to drive to and park at, and there's a comfortable waiting room. We would highly recommend The Musical Box as a great place to learn singing.

My daughter has been taking drum lessons with Zac at TMB since 2021. She’s now 11 years old and is currently working towards her Grade 8 drums exam – a huge achievement that speaks volumes about the quality of teaching here.
Zac is an absolutely amazing and inspiring teacher who truly goes above and beyond for his students. He makes every lesson engaging, supportive, and fun, while pushing her to reach new heights in her playing. As Sophia would say, he’s simply the best!
We absolutely love TMB as a whole – the school is clearly passionate about music, creating a positive and motivating environment that keeps kids and adults excited about learning and progressing. I first came to TMB in Jan 25 for piano lessons with Piano Teacher Lorna Keene. And how lovely and patient she is! Although I’ve been a keen hobby musician for years, I definitely needed help to hone my keyboard skills, and with Lorna I’ve improved a thousand fold. ☺️
So good was my experience, I decided to have vocal coaching with vocal coach James Allen. James has been brilliant in helping me to switch from singing choir music to contemporary style - the difference between where I was, and where I am now is night and day. 😀

Noah started drum lessons at the musical box in year 5 .Although I was apprehensive at first and thought it would be a fad Noah has thrived and continues to enjoy his lessons many years later. He is now in 6th form and is currently studying for his Grade 8. Gareth is a great mentor ,friend & teacher and Noah looks forward to his lessons every week . Noah also has developed a life skill and confidence and an appreciation of music which he often uses to destress . I don’t need to remind him to practice on the contrary I have to remind him that the neighbours may still be asleep 😀. I recommend the musical box for making music fun and giving my child a passion.
The most wonderful place to learn to play music, with the most friendly and engaging teachers. Over the last 10 years, my son, my wife and I have all come to know TMB very well. You will not find a better place to learn whether starting anew young or old, or brushing up existing skills. My son has gone on to be offered a place at Leeds Conservatoire thanks to Tim’s wonderful tuition. My wife and I have joined bands and found ourselves doing what we’d always wanted to do: play live music with other musicians. Tim, Paula, Lorna and all the staff at TMB are simply wonderful, as is the whole establishment. It is a rare place that will not just teach you the skills you always wish you could have in the most friendly and engaging way, but quietly instil in you the confidence to go and do with those skills whatever you want. TMB is it.

My 8 year old daughter has had keyboard lessons with Lorna at Music Box and has thoroughly enjoyed them. Lorna is a fantastic teacher and her kindness, patience and warmth has made the experience joyful. I would like to wish Lorna continued success and happiness in the future and thank her for being the wonderful person she is.
Band practice has been a highlight of my week for the past couple of years. Jack is a brilliant teacher and leader and the rest of the crew, led by Tim, create a fantastic atmosphere to enable even some like me, who always felt that their abilities has plateaued over 40 years ago, to improve by playing within a band.

A balance of proper music teaching with a focus on tunes pupils want to play. I am a 'mature student' getting going again after a long lay off and the teaching was adapted to suit me well - getting me practicing and filling gaps in theory. Equally there are some very young folk around just beginning and they all have smiles on their faces. Keep it up guys!

Our daughter loves her drumming lessons at the Musical Box! The set-up at the studio in Fritwell is slick, with two kits - it suits her really well. She lights up when she’s playing there, accompanied by her wonderful teacher, Gareth, who puts her at ease and brings the best out of her. I’m hoping she might have a go at playing at BoxFest this summer, where pupils get a chance to showcase their skills at a family-friendly outdoor event.
