There are so many great things to say about the treehouse. It was a unique experience in a beautiful setting. Incredibly designed. Remote feel yet with great hikes nearby and close proximity to wonderful mountain towns. Very communicative hosts with clear instructions. A weekend getaway we won’t forget.
My husband and I stayed at Marsu and it was the most amazing time! I surprised him with a quick mountain trip for his 50th birthday! Marsu was so peaceful! We loved having our coffee on the swings, relaxing at night in the hot tub and waking up with a beautiful view through the trees. We recommend Highlands Treehouse Retreat and will for certain be back!

By far one of the best Airbnbs we’ve had the privilege to stay at. It was a modern dream with beautiful views of the trees everywhere in the home. My son’s favorite part was the hot tub, net that hungover the living room & the bridge. Host was very responsive & accommodating. I had multiple people ask me for a link once I posted pictures on insta! Highly recommend.

We picked this place in hopes the kids will remember it forever… and I think they will. It’s the most unique place we’ve ever stayed. The floor to ceiling windows truly made us feel we were sleeping in the trees. I loved opening the windows to let the cool breeze in and the bridge to the platform. The location is a gated compound of five tree houses, all hidden, with a community playground, sauna and store. The drive coming up is a little bit crazy, so be mindful of the vehicle you bring. It is a 30 min drive to town, but you do pass all of the popular waterfalls on the way. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for having us.

My kids and I had a phenomenal time here! Wondrously beautiful, and perfect for kiddos with the treehouse netting and playground! Incredibly relaxing environment with a perfect porch for reading, and we loved laying out on the net with a blanket after some time in the hot tub. We'd love to be back!

We were looking for a unique place where we could unplug from the busy world, reconnect with nature, and enjoy some quality family time, and this place delivered exactly that! The property was beautiful, thoughtfully designed, & very well built. Although we had hoped to enjoy the hot tub a little more, we did run into a small issue that prevented us from doing so. The host was quick to respond, communicate with us, and offer to resolve the issue, which we truly appreciated. One thing to keep in mind is that the little spa retreat requires a bit of a hike to reach.Breathtaking waterfalls and hike trails, all within about a 15–20 minute drive. Downtown Highlands was also only about 20 minutes away and was such a charming town to explore!We also loved the little community center, which was such a thoughtful touch. It offered a few items for purchase, including souvenirs and even a s’mores kit, making the stay feel that much more special.I would absolutely recommend staying here!

We had an amazing mini moon here in the Marsu treehouse! We did end up pretty much just staying in the cabin once we had arrived, as we were worried about navigating the roads in the rain/darkness. 4 wheel drive is really necessary (and they made that clear with the listing, we just took a chance). We will certainly come back (and be better equipped!)

The secluded setting offers a true escape while still providing every amenity needed for a luxurious stay. The fully equipped kitchen, thoughtful design, and exceptional attention to detail make the experience feel truly special.
You can spend hours relaxing on the platform across the hanging bridge, lounging on the trampoline net, or unwinding in the hot tub. If you’re looking to disconnect, this is the perfect place—though the houses do have Wi‑Fi if needed.
The team was extremely responsive to any questions or requests. We plan to be back!

We absolutely loved our first treehouse cabin experience in the Highlands! From the moment we booked, the entire process was seamless—from booking and communication to check-in and check-out. Everything was so easy and well thought out.The cabin was beyond enjoyable for our family of four, and our Goldendoodle loved it just as much as we did! It was such a unique, peaceful, and memorable experience, and we truly enjoyed every minute of our stay.We were honestly sad to leave, which is always a good sign! Wonderful stay. Truly amazed by the craftsmanship and ingenuity it took to conceive these treehouses. Beautifully designed, comfortable, felt more like an upscale apartment than a “treehouse”. Peaceful, unique, and unforgettable to be sitting in a hot tub surrounded by the treetops. Definitely one of the most memorable places we have stayed.
My husband and I stayed at the Cubus Treehouse and Wow! What a unique experience. Not only is the treehouse cool (it has lots of unique features), but it’s relaxing and extremely comfortable. These treehouses are thoughtfully constructed. We loved the deck on the other side of the suspension bridge! It was like being perched high above the treetops. We’ll be back!
The carpentree exceeded our expectations! What an amazing place to wake up to and enjoy the views from above the treetops. The whole property was clean along with the tree house itself. My family of four enjoyed every moment that we spent in the mountain trees. We can't wait to get back to relax once again! We also visited many amazing waterfalls that are very close to the property. This stay was the highlight of our NC trip. We absolutely loved living in the treetops deep in the forest. The 10-minute gravel road into the property made it feel very authentic and secluded without being too far away from town, beautiful hikes, and waterfalls. All my friends back home are asking about this spot because of how beautiful and unique it looks. My kids loved it. It had all the amenities to keep them happy. They didn't want to leave.
