I don’t ever post a review if I don’t think a place is less than excellent (or really awful which is rare). So: if you’re in Los Narejos /Alcazares and looking for something authentic then get yourself to El Cortez. Lots of other options nearby of course but this is a quality option for Spanish food, drink and hospitality. Names escape me (so I must go back) but the food was exceptionally good and the prices represent a bargain thereabouts. Service is top notch. My favourite. Probably.

Not busy, the Tuesday evening we visited, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. It's refreshing to have a proper. Spanish restaurant on the strip. Prices, very reasonable for great quality food, even the chef came out to ensure everything was to our liking.
We will be back!
Fui con mi familia, llamamos con muy poca antelación porque surgió de esa forma, y muy amables nos hicieron un hueco, destacar la amabilidad del personal de sala que nos iba recomendado, nos prepararon un caldero de los mejores que hemos probado, las almejas y las marineras lo mismo especiales!! Todo espectacular de verdad muy recomendable, y el dueño también se preocupó del feeback de todas los comensales! Desde luego volveremos!

I can't deny there are some good reviews on here for this restaurant unfortunately me and the wife didn't have the same experience. I ordered the burger with fried potatoes which was average. My wife ordered the grilled sea Bass which she said was very tasty... unfortunately this was supposed to come with mashed potatoes which we had to ask for. They came about 15 minutes later. So the reason we won't be visiting again is because the service was generally very poor 😢😢😢..

Sitting among many restaurants offering massive menus with food from around the world, El Cortez is a hidden gem offering a small but excellent menu and tapas. Staff are charming and attentive and food authentic and very good value. The fish dishes (We had hake and sea bream) were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend!
