If Christmas was a place...
The most amazing place we have ever stayed, will visit again at any possible occasion. Perfect in every way, the epitome of luxury and service, words don't do it justice as its truly magnificent. Christian and his team were incredible and deserve every accolade possible. We cannot wait to return, the joy Zermatt and the Omnia brought us is truly incalculable and the memories immeasurable.
Update December 2025: We visited again in January 2024 and everything was still top notch. The manager came to greet us when we arrived to welcome us back. We are always so excited to come back to the Omnia.
I hesitated to splurge on a hotel, since Zermatt was already expensive, but this was worth it. Even before arriving, the Omnia set up all our lunch and dinner reservations, and made sure we had all the information we needed for our trip. On arrival to Zermatt, the Omnia golf cart was waiting for us at the train station to whisk us away to the hotel.
To get into the hotel, we had to go into a cave to an elevator taking us straight up to the hotel. As we stepped out of the elevator, reception was ready and waiting for us with blankets and glasses of wine for a nice drink before we checked in.
Finishing up our drinks, we were shown around the hotel and then to our room. Our first room overlooked Zermatt and the mountains (we moved rooms mid stay for a view of the Matterhorn). The room was beautiful and quite large for just the two of us! The bed was massive, but still seemed small compared to the room. Then there was what seemed like a secret room where there was a bathtub with a ceiling window above.
Aside from the room, the hotel's spa overlooked Zermatt with an indoor/outdoor pool, several saunas (including a floral scented one), and an outdoor hot tub with a view of the Matterhorn.
Onto food, the hotel did an amazing job with getting us the best tables for lunch, but they also have their own restaurant where we had breakfast daily and dinner the first evening. Breakfast was hearty and had everything I wanted even though each day I was in a different mood for different foods. They had a variety of freshly squeezed juices, a table of sliced fruit, a table of breads, a cheese cart with local cheeses, and an a la carte menu that included some of the best eggs I've had.
For dinner, we went with their tasting menu and added a course of raclette and schnitzel, both which were probably my favorite courses. They did an amazing job with the wine pairing; my favorite was a smokey white wine from Switzerland. Foodwise, I almost never eat the bread, but they had 4 different kinds of butter - all amazing.
Overall, this hotel wholeheartedly deserves all five stars (even more). One part of the hotel that is often overlooked is the staff. They were always attentive, gave incredible suggestions, and were helpful in every way. The hospitality at the hotel was exceptional; in fact, my favorite part of the hotel. We can't wait to come back next year!
Home with our Omnia Mountain Family Again!
It was like coming home again to our Matterhorn Swiss Family! Once more to be so warmly welcomed by all, with most of the staff, knowing our names as they passed us in the halls and common areas (I am almost certain they have our photos hanging somewhere in the employee areas!!) This team of Hosts and Hostesses is spot on every day and every hour of the day. Never once will you her the word "No" or, "I am afraid that is not possible". The Omni is the land of the YES. "Yes we can do that...." Our week long stay there this time was marked by delicious food, beautiful days and nights, Swiss Day celebrations and smiling, helpful Hotel Family members always ready to do something extra for us. Food - 10, Rooms -10, Bedding and Comfort-10, Extra Mile Service-10, Atmosphere-10 Value-10, Recommend-10, Return-10 (We're back in Feb. 2026) Much thanks to Christian and the entire team!!! The staff were all so pleasant and kind. They catered to every request we’ve made and displayed great attitude towards us. The amenities were superb, the views were spectacular and I wasn’t expecting that awesome bat cave style hidden entrance! That was really cool! Their breakfast was so good too! And our stay was really relaxing, fun, intimate, and peaceful. Definitely coming whenever I visit Zermatt with family or friends!

It was a perfect autumn escape in Zermatt, while we stayed three nights at The Omnia in October 2025, in one of the beautiful Corner Suites. From the warm welcome at arrival to the consistently friendly and professional staff, everything felt truly special. The wellness area is a highlight — architecturally stunning, with dark stone surfaces that beautifully reflect the water and soft light. The design creates a peaceful, almost meditative atmosphere, enhanced by the breathtaking mountain view. Both steam baths were exceptional, one infused with herbs and the other with floral essences. Every detail felt carefully thought out and of the highest quality. We were so lucky with beautiful weather and went days skiing in mid-October, followed by a wonderful hike along the glacier near the Matterhorn. The golden autumn colours made Zermatt absolutely breathtaking. An unforgettable stay — elegant, peaceful, and full of genuine Swiss hospitality. Thank you Omnia for having us.
Unbelivable hotel experience!
To say our stay at the Omnia was extraordinary is an understatement. The hotel and staff exceeded our expectations at every turn. The building itself and the amenities are beautiful. From the pickup at the station in their mini electric buggy through the dramatic tunnel entrance to the welcoming drink beside the fire complete with fresh flowers we were immersed in a five star experience. The staff was engaging and helpful and their alacrity showed through at every point during our visit. The hotel is well situated with a commanding view of the entire village. We easily walked to the Gornergatt rail station one morning and to the cable car station the next morning and had no problem walking to restaurants and bars all over the village. On returning from the glacier paradise we got off at the Furi station and walked the rest of the way back to the hotel…an easy downhill stroll. Each afternoon we took advantage of the spa (which includes steam rooms and two saunas) as well as the pool and outdoor hot tub where we gazed across the rooftops of the village below. Thank you to everyone at the Omnia for your part in an experience we will never forget! (And for your help sorting out our passports after we left!!) All the best!
Best place for a post-engagement celebration
We were celebrating getting engaged the day before our arrival. The staff mentioned they’d do something “small” to celebrate. Well, they upgraded us to the luxurious and beautiful Matterhorn Suite, put out a nice Mr. and Mrs. Sign with rose pedals and a bottle of champagne! There are so many amazing touches to this hotel: from the most beautiful pool, to the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, to the great bourbon in the room, to the most luxurious shampoo and soaps, the Omnia is the definition of luxury.

A Home Away from Home in Zermatt
We’ve stayed at The Omnia a few times now, and somehow it keeps getting better with each visit. The Managing Director, Christian, and the rest of the team are absolutely top-notch — they go out of their way to make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The hotel itself is stunning and impeccably clean. The bedding is luxurious, the rooms are beautifully designed, and the spa is truly breathtaking. We’ve stayed in hotels all over the world, but The Omnia stands apart — not just for its elegance, but for the genuine warmth and hospitality of everyone who works there. It’s rare to find a place that makes you feel so welcomed and like part of the family. We can’t thank Christian and the entire Omnia team enough for making our vacation so memorable. We already can’t wait to return!
