Great holiday apartment in Kiama, great location - close to town center, train station and beach.
Great communication from host.
Clean, new appliances, good climate control, dedicated underground parking, good soundproofing (we haven’t heard neighbors or outdoor).
Good for 1 to 3 person stay in Kiama whether you are just exploring the town/region, hiking (good start for Kiama costal walk either to south or north side) or prefer spend your time on the beach.
Has all necessary for good holidays.
One suggestion is to leave instruction for the oven, we had to google the model number to understand how to disable parental lock.

My wife and spent four days in Valerie's apartment as a base from which to walk the Kiama Coastal Walk and visit the Minnamurra Rain Forest. The apartment is in a quiet location near the shore yet only a few minutes walk from the town centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, made more so by excellent communications by our host.

This Ideal location was both quiet yet close to everything I wanted . Most appealing was the welcoming relaxed comfort and a light and airy atmosphere and everything was Clean!!
I would happily stay here again . The Owner was most helpful giving clear instructions for hassle free entry and providing quality linen and small electricals to make the stay joyful. Thankfully the outlook was pleasant also having view of the beach and coastline .

Was a beautiful apartment. Spaces and location were perfect and aircon and furniture made for a comfortable stay. If I’m being nit picky with feedback maybe a box of tissues in the living area would be great and we couldn’t find the cutlery until second day and there were no knives. Besides that no complaints :)

The cutlery draw is an internal drawer where all cutlery including knives could be found. It’s a secret draw. I’ll aim to label it .

Very nice appartement, everything was fine a bit noisy but we live in quiet suburb so not used to the traffic. It was for our 50th year wedding anniversary and the proximity of restaurants and cafes was a bonus. I recommend.

The apartment was well-designed, and well-located to explore Kiama Surf beach surrounds. We, however, did not have a good experience overall. First, the instructions to get in the apartment was not clear. After calling Valerie, seems like you had to enter the code twice on the main door. We paid for late check out at noon, but at 10am, a rather angry cleaner came knocking and was very displeased to see us still there. She was apparently not informed, and left her cleaning supplies without any apologies. My credit card was charged $350 (it was not a hold, it was a credit charged after calling my bank) for security purposes but this was not clearly stated before booking and paying. Later, the $350 was accounted back to my card.
For the price that you pay, we feel that staying in a hotel with cleaning services and reception to help with checkin/out would be a better value.
Thank you for your comments – I’m glad you liked our apartment design and location even though it contradicts your low ranking for rooms and location. I’m concerned to read about your experience but more dissappointed to not hear about this till now. Without a phone call or email to discuss it at that time.
The pre arrival email we sent (which we email to all guests) had very clear instructions on how to check in. I apologise if they were not clear to you. From memory I recall you phoning me abruptly without advising me who you were …to ask how to check in. I kindly advised how to check in and if you had any further issues to contact me. I also advised that you may need to enter the pin code twice as the entire building pin code lock system had issues prior which had already been reported to strata. Apologies you had to re-enter the code twice but would assume this did not hinder your access overall.
Regarding your late check out – I sincerely apologise for the early entry. I take full responsibility and apologise again for the oversight. Our cleaner rang me immediately after entering the property. She advised she had apologised numerously to your partner who was very polite and reasonable about the situation. He did not once indicate he was upset at all. The cleaner had in fact asked your partner if she could leave the fresh bag of linen to avoid carrying it up and down the lift again. Your partner politely advised it was absolutely fine. Our cleaner is one of the nicest persons I know – she would never not apologise so for this comment to be made is untrue and unfair. This issue occurred when we first set up early check in / late check out options. The app failed to relay the task to the cleaner. We worked with our software team and acted on this issue immediately and the task has since been fixed. Albeit too late for you unfortunately. I want to be very clear about this - our cleaner is not rude as you suggest.
For all reservations a pre-authorisation of $300.00 security deposit is held on your credit card 1 day prior to arrival and voided 3 days after departure. It is then up to your bank to release this pending transaction. This information is clearly stated on our terms and conditions when booking and also on your booking summary. I recall we had a phone conversation about this too and I advised you exactly what would occur, so I am surprised this is an issue for you. This is standard procedure for most if not all hotels, airbnbs, holiday properties etc.
Maybe you would prefer to stay in a hotel – that is your prerogative…but with regards to better value as you suggest I’d like to point out that we offer a lot more than just a standard hotel with their pricing mostly over & above ours. We don’t always get it right as hotels don’t always get it right, but our cleaning service is far superior than most, our customer support is instant…and our apartment is much larger offering a fully self-contained 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchen, dining area, living space, separate bedroom, bathroom, laundry, balcony overlooking the beach and secure car parking – we are so much more than just a hotel room.
I would hope that other potential guests who read this can clearly see that we are transparent in our approach, and we are extremely supportive to all our guests. We want you to enjoy your stay and always encourage direct communication at all times.
