Can't say I was thrilled. At first he seemed fine: attentive and friendly. But things changed when the procedure he did on me didn't work. I had a partial tear in my hamstring tendon, and he performed a PRP on it. But after a month of still having pain, he said it was clear that the PRP hadn't worked. That in itself wasn't the problem; it's what happened after.
I wrote him a (very nice) letter explaining why I didn't feel he had paid enough attention to certain things (an MRI of my spine, for example), but I never heard a word from him. (Though he he did call me after this review was posted...two months later.) Also, it felt like it was pulling teeth to get the office to refer me to a spine doctor. It was like I was just cut loose. So...I'd say the treatment might have been appropriate, but the follow-up was sorely lacking.
Pre surgery
First appointment with the doctor went very well with a speedy appt, a very courteous staff and prompt visit with him. We have the same vision of what I need for my knee and I do believe it will be accomplished very soon. Overall I was very happy and enthusiastic about what is to come.
After surgery
Dr. Shin and his team made surgery day a breeze on a day no one looks forward to. Recover is going great. 2.5 week appt yesterday and I want thank him and his staff for the ease and timeliness of the whole visit. I’m impressed by their friendly attitude and dedication to customer service in the medical field. Shout out to Gloria for all communications and I’m glad I finally got to meet you.
Went in for surgery on March 17,2025 and was treated with the outermost respect and communication of the procedure was well detailed to me. Doctor Gaurav Abbi is an excellent, knowledgeable orthopedic and spine surgeon. I have entrusted him with my care, and I have not been disappointed. My sciatica is gone, my L4 and L5 have been treated, and I have received epidural care for recent falls. Dr. Abbi is a proactive, attentive listener. He has an innate sense to perceive what needs to be done to help a person’s quality of life. Yes, I highly recommend him, and then you, too, will experience Dr. Abbi’s expertise.

I play curling. Dr. Edward Shin has been my sports physician since I started having curling-related injuries. He has been excellent.
