We had a great excursion. No complaints! To begin with, Joni, our driver was very friendly, helpful and a great driver. Yes the roads are winding and sometimes it feels like a roller coaster going up and down the hills on the way to the port area but it was all worth it. We visited 3 islands and the sandbar/natural pool area and it was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. I didn’t think we would enjoy it so much, especially because the weather started off a bit rough with the rain and some lightning and rough seas but that only lasted for a short time until the sun came out again. Would highly recommend. Kudos to Jon and Nidi from the islands tour guide. Super welcoming and made our trip very enjoyable!

Transportation in Panama is a lot different than in the US. There were 6 of us (plus the driver) in a vehicle similar to a Toyota Landcruiser, and it was tight, but they worked something out, and we only had 5 people on the way back to the hotel, so we were all comfortable. The boat ride was packed as well, and it was quite a challenge for some to get in and out of the boat on the islands and the port. I was a little nervous when I read the reviews about how horrible the drive is there, but to me it was no different than the curvy roads you experience in the mountains. I think our guide said there are 246 islands in San Blas, and the first few you pass leaving the port have thousands of people living on them. It was quite the experience to see that, and we even saw kids playing outside at the school on one of the islands. You get to visit 3 islands, and they were beautiful. I especially loved seeing the sailboats and catamarans, and I would like to know how to acquire an island…

The trip was amazing!! The people are so attentive and kind. The islands are beautiful and worth the trip. Our weather was overcasted but it worked because we didn't have to deal with the scorching sun! The roads are very curvy so if you are sensitive to motion-sickness, I would keep that in mind. The driver was great at driving the challenging roads, (I know I wouldn't be able to drive it). After you get picked up from the hotel, there's a 15min break at a gas station where you can purchase breakfast and snacks. Our excursion included lunch and it was very yummy! even my little one who is a picky eater enjoyed the chicken and fries. I had the fish and patacones, that did not disappoint. I give the tour a 10 out of 10.

Very informative. My driver was promptly at the hotel at 5:00 am. After a brief pick up of the other 4 passengers we were on our way. After a 1 hr drive stop at a rest stop for breakfast and coffee. Next we entered a winding road in the jungle where we stopped for a picture to capture a view of the 365 islands. Next we rode on a speed boat that took to see 4 islands, including a natural swimming pool. Lunch was delicious. Definitely a 14 hr adventure. We prepared.
