The SWFL horse rescue was a wonderful experience and our guide, Therese had lots of information to share about each horse on the farm. We loved to see the horses at peace and the conditions are perfect, especially given where many of these beautiful animals came from previously. Thank you for the amazing work!

I'm visiting family here in Florida and we decided to come check this rescue out because I have horses of my own back home, we went on the general tour and coming from a horse person myself I thought the place looked great! all the horses were plump, and they had their fly masks on and even though some of the newer rescues were still healing and, in the transition process, you could just tell they have put weight on and have bright eyes compared to the intake photos they have. it was great to see all the senior horses and even though I wish I could adopt one of the seniors myself I am very happy that they keep them for the rest of their lives and let them live out their days happy and healthy on the property safe from their pasts. I have seen rescues that claim to be what's best for the horses but in reality, they just overcrowd and underfeed, not SWFHR they know exactly how many horses they have capacity for and they have a stocked feed room with good feeds like tribute (which I personally love for my own horses). the place is so clean and even in the heat of July I didn't see bugs swarming horses or even around the farm and couldn't smell any manure (which is impressive in itself). I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will 100% be coming back next time I'm in town!!

On Friday I took a tour of SWFHR and was very impressed with the way the Horses were cared for. They all looked so healthy and had so much room to roam and be free. I heard each horses story and what they had been through, how their ailments are being treated which honestly, warmed my heart.
They are in need of volunteers and I'm considering doing so as I love being around horses. This is a rescue everyone should visit.

This horse rescue does an amazing job at bringing life back to the neglected horses who are brought here from rescued situations. They provide a wonderful home with clean paddocks, plentiful food, shelter and the volunteers, well you cannot say enough about them. If you have a few dollars to spare throw it their way, it will not be wasted.
My husband and I visited on February 11, 2026 and were excited to see how beautifully managed SWFHR is. Take a tour and watch those who truly love these animals work their magic. You will not be disappointed.

The facility exceeded our expectations with its well-kept grounds and the evident care given to the horses by dedicated volunteers. Both my husband and I were thoroughly impressed.
