The most rude and ignorant people work and own this place. Had 4 different staff members tell us different things had us move around and when we were polite and followed every direction but still wasn't good enough. Would never recommend dealing with these people

We’re sorry that you felt our staff were rude, but we do feel it’s important to provide some context about what occurred.
Shuswap Marina is a **working marina, not a campground or public beach**, and there are areas where certain activities simply cannot be permitted for safety and operational reasons.
First, children cannot swim in the middle of our **active boat ramp**. Boats and trailers are continually entering and leaving the water in this area, and swimming there is dangerous and is not permitted at any time.
We also asked your group not to set up a picnic and food-preparation area on the ground beside our **fuel dock and boat ramp**. This included preparing sandwiches on the ground with a whole head of lettuce, mayonnaise and other food ingredients spread out in the area. Aside from needing to keep an active working area clear, we did not feel this was an appropriate or sanitary place for food preparation. **Tables and umbrellas were available nearby**, and we simply asked that they be used instead.
Finally, swimming on floaties in and around our **customer moorage docks** is also not permitted. These docks are used by our customers and by boats coming and going, and allowing people to swim throughout the moorage area creates a serious safety concern.
You mentioned that four different staff members approached you and told you different things. This was not a matter of our staff trying to make your visit difficult or giving you conflicting instructions. **Each time you were approached, there was a different activity taking place that needed to be addressed** — swimming in an active boat ramp, preparing and eating food on the ground beside our fuel dock and ramp, and later swimming on floaties throughout our customer moorage docks.
We understand that being asked to move or change what you were doing more than once may have been frustrating. However, our responsibility is to maintain a safe, clean and accessible environment for our customers, staff, boaters and visitors.

We rented a pontoon boat for the day, and it was just my husband, our three dogs, and me. We had such an amazing experience from start to finish!
The staff were incredibly pet friendly and gave our dogs so much love and attention. We have a special-needs dog, and they went above and beyond to help us get everyone and all of our gear comfortably settled on the boat.
The practical demo on how to drive the boat & other paperwork was quick, easy, and very thorough. They also provided us with a map of the lake, recommended some great places to explore, and even offer dog life jackets for anyone who needs them (we brought our own, but it's such a thoughtful touch).
What really impressed us was their customer service. Later in the day, the wind started to pick up while we were still out on the lake, and they called my cell to check in and make sure we were okay. That level of care is rare these days and was so appreciated.
Halfway through our rental, we docked so our dogs could stretch their legs and have a potty break. The staff came right out to help us again, making everything easy and stress-free.
Our dogs had an absolute blast, and so did we. We made memories with our pets that we'll cherish forever, and that's truly priceless. If you're looking for a pet-friendly boat rental with exceptional customer service, we can't recommend this place enough. We'll definitely be back!

I've been a regular customer of Shuswap Marina for about ten years, I think. Gareth and Monica and their staff have been outstanding, providing great moorage services, boat storage, maintenance, fuel and more. As we are seasonal in the area, these guys make it possible for me to own and enjoy my boat, as they take care of all important aspects of ownership and maintenance for me. It comes down to trust. I just show up, jump in and turn the key. I love it!

Long-term, year-round customers and couldn't be more pleased. Gareth, Monica, and their entire team go way above and beyond to make sure everyone's having a great time on the Shuswap. The service team in the shop is top notch, and the storefront is great too. They treat you like family and genuinely care about your experience on the water.
Can't recommend them enough — five stars all the way.

We rented a pontoon boat for 3 days. Jenny was super helpful and gave us all the info we needed for successful adventures on the water. Luke was very polite and assisted in the return process. This Marina, operated by Monica, is amazing. The boats (and water toys) are well maintained, the shop is neatly organized, plus the bathrooms are spotless and well stocked. We have rented from other places on the lake and I can't say enough good things about this establishment. We will return to Shuswap Marina every time where the staff is really great and their service outshines the competition. Thanks Monica and Team for making our vacation that much better.

My family and I have rented boats from Shuswap Marina for several years now. The boats are always clean and well maintained when we pick them up. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
One year we did a one day rental on a pontoon boat and a few hours later got rained out, we brought the boat in early and they only charged us a half day for the rental, most places won’t do that!
We will be back in 2027!!

Had problems with the outboard motor stalling on our Bayliner and could not find a decent marina in the lower mainland to properly and ethically trouble shoot and fix the issue. Upon moving up to the Shuswap, we called Mike who immediately wanted to help us out despite being so busy. He assigned his technician Scotty to diagnose the issue and after a few hours of trouble shooting, he determined that all the carbs needed a deep cleaning (no new parts needed). Great service, friendly advice and ethical. Will always be grateful and they have earned all my business!

Awesome!!! 😎 called on a Monday afternoon and were able to rent a pontoon boat Tuesday morning. Jenny was so helpful on the phone and warned us about the wind the next day and that we may not be able to proceed. I totally appreciated that considering what the wind can be like on the Shuswap. But the next morning was fabulous! - thanks Mother Nature! We rented the boat for 4 hours, she was super helpful with the safety briefing and instruction. Told us to come a few minutes before they even opened so she could get us out quickly. The boat was just what we needed for the day. Allowed our 2 dogs to come with us for a small fee. Luc was also there to greet us in the morning and helped us out too.
Highly recommend for an amazing day on the Shuswap!
