My daughter started Shichida when she was just six months old, and she is now finishing her final term this year. Looking back, I can honestly say that it has been one of the best investments we have made in her early development.
What I love most about Shichida is that the goal isn’t simply to make children “geniuses.” Instead, the program focuses on discovering each child’s individual capabilities and helping them maximise the skills and potential they already have within themselves.
One of the biggest benefits we noticed was how it trained her from a very young age to sit, focus, listen to a teacher and participate in a class. I believe this made the transition from kindergarten to primary school much easier.
Her memory and reading development have also been amazing to watch. At around nine months old, she could recognise animals. By one and a half, she could recognise letters, and by three and a half, she had started reading by herself.
Of course, Shichida is not magic,
the parents play an important role too. We continued practising at home and doing the exercises we learnt in class. Going once a week is a great start, but using the Shichida methods at home is what really helps reinforce and extend the learning.
Another thing I really appreciate is that the learning is fun and not stressful. My daughter became so comfortable with doing exercise books that homework has never felt like a big struggle for her.
So, to parents who may be wondering whether six months old is too young to introduce learning . don’t be afraid to start early. At this age, learning can be playful, enjoyable and part of everyday life.
I’m very passionate about introducing Shichida to friends and family who have newborns or young children. And one more thing I would encourage parents to consider: don’t stop just because your child starts school. The progress may not always be obvious or dramatic once they are in primary school, but I believe the skills they have developed continue to support them in their learning.
For us, Shichida has been much more than teaching our daughter to read early. It has helped build her concentration, memory, confidence, learning habits and willingness to learn and that is something I will always be grateful for. ❤️
