Iain provided a truly memorable 4 day walk along the Fife Coastal Path for our group. From helping with recommendations for accommodations long before we arrived to thoughtful boxed lunches each day along the trail, he was always thinking of how to make our time in Scotland memorable. He is very knowledgeable about the land and the history, and he cares deeply for his home. Favorite small moments included eating wild blueberries along the path, swimming in the sea at dawn each day (chilly but amazing!), and obviously many, many pictures of the Highland cows on the way to Crail. :) If you get the chance to tour a part of Scotland with him, you will not be disappointed!

A wonderful 4 day walk along the Fife Coastal Path with friends thanks to Iain! He is very knowledgeable about the land and its history and he cares deeply for his home. Always thinking of how to ensure we had the best time possible, he assisted with recommending accommodations for our group months before we arrived and coordinated lovely boxed lunches each day of our walk. On our only really rainy, blustery afternoon, he made sure to provide the option for some to cut the walk a little shorter and get a taxi to the next town so that everyone continued to enjoy their time. The first two nights paved the way for a terrific trip...
Serenity Scotland was highly recommended and they did not disappoint! They suggested we stay in Crail for our first two nights - on the coast outside of St Andrews - in a terrific small hotel called Shore Gate. The accommodations were perfect for two tired travelers but the food in the restaurant below was the best we had the entire trip. The biggest plus that we didn't realize until after trip to Scotland, was that this area exemplified the wonderful Scottish people. The absolute best way to see Scotland is with Joanne at Serenity Scotland! She met our small group of 4 at the Edinburgh airport and we "toured" our way to Inverness- where we spent the next 3 days exploring The Highlands including The Isle of Skye. What I loved about Joanne is that she took our wish list of places to visit and designed a trip especially for us. She incorporated reservations at local pubs and eateries and helped us with souvenirs making sure we got authentic Scotland goodies. We covered lots of ground enjoying every minute, then toured our way via St Andrews to Edinburgh where we continued our trip on our own.

A Wonderful Day walking in History
Date: Mon. April 20th. Guide: Forbes M. Trip: I booked the day tour to Hadrian's Wall and Vindolanda for my husband and myself. Forbes was on time and the vehicle was very comfortable. Forbes was very friendly, was very knowledgeable about and discussed topics germane to the trip but was also interesting to speak with about music, tv shows and other travel destinations. He was also flexible and accommodating when my husband or myself showed interest in something we saw out the vehicle's window and wanted to take a closer look. Fortunately, the weather stayed mild and the walk and views from the wall were extraordinary. Perhaps because it was a Monday, there was a big chunk of time where we saw no one else and it really added to the wild mystique of the place. Vindolanda was amazing and it was exciting to finally be at a place only previously glimpsed at through books and documentaries. Of course, the tablets were a highlight. From my first email asking about the tour to a post-tour inquiry from Iain of how the tour went communication was prompt and friendly. When we get back to Edinburgh or Scotland, we will certainly keep Serenity Tours & Forbes in mind for other excursions. A big thanks again to Iain and Forbes for allowing this experience and making the day very special and memorable.
