If I could give service 20 stars I would and still want more. The staff is the most amazing ever!!! You could not be more taken care of if you where at you grandmother's house!!! You could not stay at a better place ever!

A lovely hotel in Kasane, a stones throw from both the Chobe river and Chobe National Park. The staff were all wonderful and would go out of their way to help you.
The rooms look a bit soviet era in that there is a lot of Concrete on view. However this is extemely practical given the temperatures and humidity that you can experience in this area.
Facilities were very good and the bed was comfortable. I though it was a bit hard at first but as I managed to sleep through my alarm on two occasions it clearly did not stop me sleeping.
The food was good and the staff were very attentive. Drink refills were fast and plates were cleared away efficiently.
The Guides we had, Tamia and Tshidi, were excellent and they must eat a lot of carrots as they were so good at spotting the small birds that can be found along the river,

Fantastic Safari Experience
I took Pangolin Photo Safaris' Best of Chobe safari in August 2026. It was fantastic! I took excellent photos and the experience exceeded my expectations. The safari consisted of a 3-night stay on the Pangolin Voyager Houseboat and a 3-night stay at the Pangolin Hotel. The food and accommodations were excellent. Each day included morning and late afternoon excursions along the Chobe River and/or land excursions in the Chobe National Park. The entire Pangolin crew and staff were superb. They were courteous, friendly, helpful and provided excellent customer service. Our photo guide, named Pusetso, was outstanding. In addition to her excellent technical and photographic skills, her wildlife knowledge and people skills were superb. She addressed everyone's needs in a timely, professional, and friendly manner. Through her timely photo tips and Adobe Lightroom Classic edit sessions, I became a better photographer and photo editor. Our wildlife guides, named Ray and Keeme, both did an exceptional job in locating wildlife, educating us on wildlife behaviors, and in positioning the vehicles and river boats so we could obtain the best photos possible. Pangolin Photo Safaris sets a very high bar for photography-based safaris and I look forward to joining them again in the future.

Pangolin, consistently excellent
This is my third trip to Pangolin Chobe, the lodge is excellent. The total experience of photo boats on the Chobe, Land Cruiser trips into the Chobe game park and the lodge are brilliant experiences. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped for camera charging. The restraurant is first class as is the wine list.

Live like Royalty on the Chobe River
The Voyager is the best houseboat on the Chobe River! So modern and luxurious! The electric engines mean that the boat travels silently down the river, gliding by the stunning scenery that we can view from the comfort of our deluxe cabins or from the huge upstairs lounge with plate glass windows, or from the open front desk in our comfy lounge chairs. With only 8 passengers (plus staff), you feel like royalty on your own private yacht. Both food and staff were outstanding. Different seating areas upstairs were so nice to have! The addition of a tripod for anyone to use was a great idea, as are the reference books in the sitting area. The lighted stairs were great for nighttime safety. I especially loved the wooden map of the river so we could see our location. Delicious food and drinks! The special photo boat was superb! Perfect for photography. We loved all of the excursions and how close we could get to the animals and birds. One other thing I will mention. This trip attracts similar people, it seems. So the other three couples we were with were LOVELY! Part of what made this trip so special was our group who quickly became friends! What a perfect trip!
A Rich Kaleidoscope of all that is best in an African Safari.
I visited Pangolin Chobe Hotel in May with my wife as part of Canon photo experience week. I can see why Canon, as a world leading camera company, chose to partner Pangolin for this safari week. First Chobe National Park with its extensive range of wild life and potential for both game drives and river trips is an choice location. Secondly, and this may have been the clincher, Pangolin with its location close to the park, fleet of purpose bult boats and land cruisers, staff team of skilled and professional photo and wild life guides is the ideal complement to the range of latest Canon digital cameras and long lens on offer for the week.
However, you do not need to wait for the next Canon week to try it out! This amazing experience is provided week and week out by the team at Pangolin! They know the area and the wildlife and they are committed to helping you get the best of images - whether it is the majesty of the lions, elephants playing in the Chobe, the graceful flight of the eagle, the myriads of smaller birds or the silent threat of the many Nile crocodiles! The tuition of their experienced photo guides is exceptional - whether you are a highly experienced photographer or just starting out. If you are a beginner or travelling light, then there is usually loan equipment.
The same comforts and excellent food is also there 24/7 at the hotel with a dedicated room for downloading and sorting your images in the evening. The staff team are experts in Lightroom too!
Finally, because Pangolin know, and are known so well in southern Africa, if you want to extend your trip, they will happily advise, plan and book any extension you wish. As a result, our original week with Canon was preceded by a magical few days at Victoria Falls, and then transitioned into further excellent safari experiences in the Okavango Delta and the Kalahari before ending in a relaxing long weekend in Cape Town.
Cannot recommend Pangolin highly enough from initial planning to great delivery. I am sure not the cheapest but some of the best value for money for an odyssey of a life time.

If you want the best of photo safari experiences then the choice simple - it is Pangolin Photo Safaris out of their base in Kasane on the edge of Chobe National Park. The Chobe offers a full range of wild life from iconic elephant herds, majestic lions, mass herds of buffalo, zebra, African Fish Eagles and myriads of colourful birds. All accessed either via purpose built boats or land cruisers equipped to optimise the photo opportunity under the guidance of some to the most skilled and experienced photo and wildlife guides. Also no overcrowding or fighting for the best shot. Boats have a single row of swivel seats and gimbals and the land cruisers are usually one person per row. Fast access either via Kasane airport or via Victoria Falls. Plus if you want to extend your visit with time in the Okavango Delta or Kalahari, Pangolin's links with other reputable companies makes for an integrated and enjoyable experience. Finally, for a different experience - try their house boat on the Chobe!

Amazing Experience - A Must Do
My son and I did the Chobe, Delta and Kalahari trip with Pangolin in May. Everything about the trip was truly outstanding! We had Sabine as our guide who was a pleasure - lots of fun, very patient, and generous with her time and photography instruction. We were the least experienced photographers on the trip and learned so much and are now much more confident in our abilities. We stayed on the houseboat, the Pangolin Voyager, which is gorgeous and has everything you could possibly need. The food is great, the staff friendly and accommodating and the outings on the specially designed photo boats incredible. The lodges, guides and wildlife sightings in the Delta and Kalalahari were also impressive and worked out perfectly. We would love to travel with Pangolin again - highly recommend!!!

The staff at the hotel were so friendly and professional. The food was excellent. The hotel room & bathroom were both large. Would love to return one day.

Excellent experience at the PCH as part of a photography tour. The staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and take great care of their guests. Food was great, as were the drives and boating.

Wow! I cannot say enough good things about my stay in the Pangolin Chobe Hotel and the safari experience I had while staying there. A first-class photographic hotel, safari and experience in the beautiful Chobe River area
Pangolin is a Nature photographer's expert partner and the Chobe Hotel they have built right in the Chobe River district is heaven if you are a serious photographer. The building is beautiful and very clean and well-maintained, amenities were as expected for a top hotel, the photo editing setup was professional, and the overall cleanliness and comfort are first class. The guide I had for the twice-a-day expeditions either onto the river in special photo-outfitted boats or into Chobe National Park for game drives in the Land Cruisers was a naturalist, tracker and guide, and an expert wildlife photographer. I learned a huge amount about Wildlife and nature photography. The food at the hotel was excellent - on par with any top+ hotel. the staff was friendly, highly competent, familiar with the photography mission, and as helpful as any staff I've encountered. The Pangolin Chobe Hotel (and the included every-day photo safaris) are expensive, but well worth it for serious photographers at any stage of learning. I would go back whenever I get the chance.
