John serviced an e-bike and a conventional bike for us which he collected from our home. His communication from start to finish was excellent. He explained clearly what needed doing and the cost and completed the work within 2 days. Highly recommended

Thank you so much for the fantastic review! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Delighted to hear that you felt both your e-bike and conventional bike were well looked after and that the collection service made things easy for you 👍🏼

Clear communication, honest advice and quick turnaround times are all things we pride ourselves on, and we also like to keep things personal, tailoring our service to every rider and every bike. It's great to know that was reflected in your experience 😊

Thank you again for your recommendation, and we look forward to keeping you riding smoothly in the future! 🚲😊🦦

John has changed the drive system (chain, cassette, chainrings, bottom bracket) on my high end road bike to a very professional level with nothing to fault using original Shimano Dura Ace parts. I also have a second road bike of which John has replaced the Shimano 105 chain and bike runs as new despite being 20 years old. It’s more convenient for myself to use the services of this business rather than trying to get a booking at a bike shop and the standard of work is second to none. Quotes are proved before any work is carried out to ensure that you’re happy to proceed with the given price.

Thank you for the wonderful review! 😊

I'm delighted you're happy with the work on both bikes, from the Dura-Ace drivetrain replacement to keeping your 20-year-old road bike running like new 🔧🚲 Although with Dura-Ace, half the challenge is handing it back without being tempted to keep it myself...! 😄

I'm glad you found the quoting process clear and the service convenient - that's what I aim for.

Thanks again for your trust and kind words, they really mean a lot to a small local business 🌟

I look forward to helping keep both bikes in top condition for many miles to come! 🚴‍♂️

Amazing service, had a number of issues I needed sorting,. My bike was fully assessed, and a itemised quote / recommendation was sent through, I was kept informed of progress and having the bike collected and dropped off was an added bonus. I would highly recommend, it’s lovely to find people who care about what they do.

Thanks again for your recommendation and kind words. It means a lot to a small local business 🌟

Enjoy the rides, and I'll be happy to help whenever you need me!

I contacted this company in relation to an RTC with one of there vehicles. In response to this phone call I was greeted when asking to report one of the drivers for dangerous driving to go f*** myself with a pole. Extremely appalling & unprofessional from a local company. Avoid at all costs

I am very happy with the service provided by John. The service & repair was as quoted with updates along the way. Collection and delivery door to door made it very convenient. First ride proved to be like putting on some old slippers, comfortable, smooth riding with no niggles. I would definitely recommend to anyone!

John really helped me out when I had a simple but time-sensitive and annoying issue with my bike that I couldn't fix. He was able to fix it on my driveway on the same day for a very reasonable fee. Friendly, flexible, knowledgable and reasonable. What more can you ask for from a bike mechanic! Will absolutely use Exeter Bike Works Ltd again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Cheers John, see you again!

Thank you so much, Sophie — really glad you were happy with the service ⭐

It was a pleasure working on your road bike and chatting through all the parts questions. You clearly love getting out on the roads around East Devon, so it’s great to know the bike is running smoothly for your rides.

I hope to see you again in the autumn — either to prep the bike for winter riding or for an end‑of‑season service to get it ready for storage and a fresh start in the spring.

Thanks again for the lovely review and for trusting me with your bike. Enjoy the miles ahead! 🚲✨

What can I say? John is a great chap! Came, collected my bike, took it away, gave a quote, carried out the work and returned it all as he said he would with great communication and knowledge. Bike feels like new again. 100% recommend.

Thank you so much for the fantastic review Gareth🙌

It was a real pleasure servicing your gravel bike — especially as it’s your daily commuter 🚲 and needs to stay smooth and reliable for all the miles you put in. I’m really glad it’s feeling like new again and that the collection, communication, and turnaround all worked well for you.

I’d love to see the bike again in the autumn 🍂 to get it fully prepared for winter riding and keep you rolling safely through the colder months ❄️

Thanks again for the recommendation and for trusting me with your bike.

I called John to fix a problem with my wife’s electric bike. He came round the same day, diagnosed the problem and took the bike away to be repaired and serviced. He kept me advised whilst it was away and returned it as agreed and on budget. The fixing for the rear mudguard had failed and whilst this had been attended to he advised that he had been unable to get the correct parts as they were out of stock. When it failed again I contacted John and he came back and fitted an alternative system (the manufacturer still unable to supply the necessary part). I was very impressed by his knowledge, attention to detail and business like approach and have no hesitation in recommending him for any cycling repairs or servicing required.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review – it’s really appreciated 👍🏼

I’m glad I could get your wife’s bike serviced, it's software updated, and have it back to running smoothly for the summer 🚴🏼‍♀️☀️. It’s always my aim to be as transparent and reliable as possible, especially when parts availability causes a few challenges!

I really appreciate your patience regarding the mudguard fixing, and I’m pleased we were able to find a solid alternative solution in the end.

Your kind words about my knowledge and attention to detail mean a lot, and I’m grateful for your recommendation 🙂. I hope you see your bikes again in future - don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks again!
John

I’m really pleased you were happy with the service and it was genuinely great to help get you back on the roads again after some years away from cycling 💪🏼. Knowing you’re now enjoying rides around Exeter and along the Exe Estuary makes the job especially rewarding 🚴🏼‍♀️. Really excellent delivered quality and service. Flexible pickup was a huge convenience, and they were very communicative and helpful throughout. Our bikes look and ride amazingly now, worth the price to get them looked at after years in the shed. I thoroughly recommend, I will be using their service again!

John at cycle systems did a fantastic job with our 3 classic bikes that had been unused for a couple of years. He quickly understood what needed to be done to update them, and carried out a thorough service. We have re-discovered our love of cycling and couldn’t be happier.
