We did the wine tour which was excellent. The tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. You get to walk through the vineyard and then see behind the scenes. They were actually bottling the sparkling wines. Once you have seen how the wine and their chocolate is made you then get to sample 4 different drinks (white, red and sparking and a brandy cream). The tour takes about an hour but you can stay longer to have lunch or walk through the gardens.
Visited on our 20th wedding anniversary. We'd booked the tasting tour and were lucky to be the only ones, so.. private tour! The lady (Helen?) looking after us, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and made it a great morning. We had lunch there too which was faultless. All the staff were lovely throughout as well. Recommended.
We really enjoyed our visit to La Mare Wine Estate. It’s such a beautiful place and the whole experience was relaxed, interesting and thoroughly enjoyable. Our guide, Tom, was fantastic – friendly, knowledgeable and engaging, and he made the tour great fun. We also loved all the different wines and other products we were able to sample along the way. A really lovely way to spend a few hours in Jersey and somewhere we’d definitely recommend visiting.
Different experience when on the island
Our tour guide was Bob (Grumpy) he was very helpful, knowlegable and funny. The tour was good chance to see around the estate, sample some wines and chocolates. Would recommend going here if you wanted to do something different on your visit to the island.
An incredible place - thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting tour and learning all about the history of the estate. Andrew was an excellent tour guide and made the tour engaging and fun for everyone. We loved seeing behind the scenes and learning all about the wine making process but we also enjoyed tasting the delicious chocolate and fudge.
We went to the café before the tour and will return for another cream tea this week! Highly recommend the scones!
Thankyou!
Bang Average BBQ
Having arrived at the reception/entrance, we were informed that the main desk was closed and we had to check-in at the estate shop. The guy there wasn't sure if he could book us in for the BBQ, but then said he could. After queuing up for the BBQ we were informed that we needed tickets which we were never told or given upon arrival. Went back to the estate shop for the tickets, only to be told we needed to go to the cafe where we queued for a time due to only one till open. The BBQ was bang average, burger, chicken, sausage & halloumi, and the salad was in a bowl with a few lettuce leaves and tomatoes and mozzarella in plastic pot, hardly worth the £22.95 each. The woman in the cafe said that we should've told the guy cooking that we needed more salad, but we're the customer and we're paying an extortionate amount for a bang average service. Oh, and to rub salt in the wounds, we were informed that we'd only paid £20 deposit when we'd booked, and would have to pay an extra £25.90. Stay clear of their BBQ Sundays.

Dear Mark, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience of our BBQ Sunday fell short of expectations. We appreciate your frustration with the arrival and ticketing process. Having to visit different points around the Estate to get checked in and collect your BBQ tickets is not the smooth experience we want for our guests. We no longer have someone stationed at the reception gate, but have rather put signage out across the estate from the entrance to try direct our guests as best as possible. That involving the BBQ is being reviewed. We’re also disappointed that you felt the BBQ itself did not represent good value for money. Our BBQ Sundays are designed to be a relaxed, generous outdoor dining experience, and we’re sorry that on this occasion the food and salad offering did not meet that standard. We certainly don’t want our guests to feel that they need to ask in order to receive an appropriate amount of food or accompaniments. We genuinely value feedback such as yours as it allows us to identify where the guest experience can be improved. We hope you might consider visiting us again in the future and giving us the opportunity to provide the experience you should have received on this occasion. We hope to see you again in the future, whether for our BBQ, which is loved by many, or to try our wines again, as we see your tour experience.Kind regards,The La Mare Wine Estate Team
