Expensive and needs upkeep
Stayed here on a trip to Acadia National Park. Everything in the area is double what the rest of the state is. A nice hotel but, for what they charge there was a lot that lacked. The beds were very worn down as were the linens. Black and pink mold spots in the shower and the sink drained extremely slow. Pool was nice but for an indoor pool was too cold.
Up to Hampton Inn high standards!
We regularly stay at Hampton Inns. This facility is pretty new, and nicely maintained. The staff were helpful and friendly. The public spaces were clean and our room was equally clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient for accessing the area’s features as well as shopping. The town of Ellsworth is charming - we enjoyed yummy baked goods from a local bakery. Did not award an excellent rating as the side door to the hotel is not locked and anyone could have opened it without a key card.
We had a fabulous stay at the Hampton Inn Ellsworth, Maine. It's a great location as it's right in the middle between the airport in Bangor and Acadia in Bar Harbor. The hotel was wonderful! The nicest people at the front desk.. a great breakfast.. comfortable room with strong and quiet AC. Within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. It was truly a perfect stay.
Great Stay while visiting Acadia National Park
Enjoyed my stay here. Loved the Halloween decorations in the lobby and dining area. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I forget the name of the lady was there working the breakfast hours, but she was super sweet and I enjoyed talking to her in the morning. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was great if you plan to visit Acadia National Park and/or Bar Harbor. It was about a 24 minute drive to and from the National Park. It’s a very convenient location.
Clean, comfortable and convenient
The Hampton Inn in Ellsworth was a great spot for 2 nights on our Maine family vacation. Mera was very friendly and helpful at check-in! We had 4 adults in a 2-queen room and were plenty comfortable with enough space to get ready and relax. We had room 317 which was on the top floor and faced behind the building; we were near the elevator but never heard a thing. The two nights we stayed, the building was nice and quiet with no inside or outside noise disturbances. The beds were very comfortable, which was needed after long days of driving. The room was equipped with a good sized mini fridge, a microwave and coffee maker. The positioning of the fridge/microwave hutch was in a weird spot, since it didn't allow the microwave to be plugged in (it just barely reached the outlet), so we moved the microwave over to the desk/table and plugged in there. This hutch also slightly blocked some of the tv view for one of the beds, but wasn't an issue. Water pressure & shower was good, with body wash, shampoo & conditioner that smelled great! The hotel is conveniently located, and right across the street from a plaza with a Hannaford's (my favorite supermarket chain), if you need any drinks or snacks. Also recommending checking out Pat's Pizza in Ellsworth, as well!
Not the best Hampton Inn
Hotel is a lower end of Hampton Inns. Have stayed in many many over the years and this one is just okay. Room was decent and of a good size but just plain. Bathroom area was okay. Breakfast was your typical Hampton Inn. The staff at front desk were not very hospitable and didn’t give a good first impression
