I can’t recommend Edinburgh Dental highly enough. Before I went there, my teeth were in a really bad state—so much so that my previous dentist actually suggested I find someone else, as they didn’t feel able to keep treating me long-term. I had a mix of broken, discoloured, worn down and missing teeth, which made eating difficult and meant I always kept my mouth closed when I smiled.
Since then, the transformation has been amazing. Dr Aran Maxwell-Cox has restored almost all of my teeth using crowns or composite, and they now look and feel so much better. Dr Ferhan Ahmed has placed five implants to fill the gaps, and the whole implant process was surprisingly quick and smooth—just over an hour.
One thing that really stood out to me was how comfortable everything has been. I was expecting a lot worse, but honestly the discomfort has been minimal.
I’m nearly at the end of my treatment now (just waiting for the final crowns after having the implants placed last week), and the difference is incredible. I can eat properly again and actually feel confident about smiling.
The whole team has been brilliant throughout—professional, reassuring, and really skilled. The work was carefully planned and expertly completed. I’m so glad I went to them and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone, especially if you’re dealing with more complex dental issues.
I’ve recently had my first appointment with Alana the hygienist and again the experience was excellent . I’m used to this being an uncomfortable type of appointment but this was so easy.

Today I had my initial consultation with Ferhan & Kasia. I have a fear of dentists -however my experience was superb!
I have major implant work to be done and from the moment I entered the clinic I felt very comfortable.
Ferhan and Kasia listened to me, they were empathetic, kind, reassuring and totally professional. Kasia explained the process and then guided me through the x-rays and scans. I felt completely at ease. Kasia was delightful. Thank you.
Ferhan then discussed/ explained my x-rays and the options that were open to me. He did this in a way I completely understood, I felt safe, valued and in control of what was happening.
Nothing felt rushed. I will now receive my treatment plan by email, have time to absorb and then go back and discuss the next stage.
From start to finish my experience was outstanding.
I left the clinic with a spring in my step.

I would like to say that Edinburgh Dental were very very professional from start to finish and I had difficulty tooth extraction. Recommend them 100%

I’ve been going to Edinburgh Dental for over a year now for regular teeth cleanings - the reception staff are always incredibly nice and quick to respond, and the dentists I’ve seen have all been lovely! I most recently saw Alana for my teeth cleanings- she was fast, clear in her communication, and offered me some tailored advice for my cleaning routines.
Excellent patient experience - the staff are all very welcoming. I am very pleased with the professional dental care I received.

Alana at Edinburgh Dental made me feel at ease whilst getting some recent dental work completed. She took the time to explain to me everything she was doing during my treatment. She was considerate of my needs, and did a great job. Most importantly, no discomfort or pain. Thank you!

The staff were lovely and took my anxiety around dental work seriously. However, having had two fillings done in this practice on separate occasions, I've decided not to come back. Unfortunately, both of the teeth treated here developed sensitivity (unlike my experience with other fillings I had done at my usual practice). One of the fillings needed a second visit as it was catching on floss (so clearly it was lifting). It then fell out completely after about a year of being initially put in. These are NOT issues I've had elsewhere, thus I'm sorry to say that I can't recommend the practice.

Duncan has been great. He explained everything perfectly, was very professional and quick, and made me feel reassured throughout. He made sure everything was done properly and aimed for the best possible result. Highly recommend!
My Excellent Dental Experience
After more than 40 years of difficult experiences with dentists, I was extremely nervous about undergoing an implant procedure. However, from the moment I arrived at Edinburgh Dental Practice, Dr Ahmed, Kasia and the entire team treated me with professionalism, courtesy, kindness and genuine compassion.
Their skill and reassurance made me feel comfortable throughout the process. I always felt embarrassed or ashamed about the condition of my teeth but the Edinburgh Dental Team treated me with understanding and respect at every stage.
Dr Ahmed, Kasia and the team have truly made me smile again - something I had not done confidently for years. I used to cover my mouth with my hand, but since receiving treatment, I feel happier and far more confident. Choosing Edinburgh Dental Practice has undoubtedly been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
The treatment was exceptionally good value for money, and I wholeheartedly recommend Edinburgh Dental Practice to anyone who feels self-conscious or worried about the condition of their teeth. You will not be judged or made to feel ashamed - you will be cared for by an amazing, highly capable and compassionate team.

Had wisdom tooth out under sedation and have a swallowing disorder so was incredibly anxious. I honestly cannot praise Kelsey enough and the entire team. From my first consultation to actual procedure everything went extremely smoothly and all my questions were answered. I would have no hesitation in recommending Edinburgh Dental.

Very nice experience, Alana was informative and walked through the process very well. The cleaning experience was less painful and smoother than others I've had. She was careful and thorough, ensuring not too much pain is caused. I have had a number of bad experinces with dentists over the years, this was the best Ive had. I look forward to the follow up visit! 😊

Kelsey at Edinburgh Dental did an excellent job with my wisdom tooth extraction and coronectomy under IV sedation. Quick, smooth, and I've recovered well. I can be a nervous patient but she was warm and lovely throughout so I always felt calm and reassured with her. Highly recommend!

If I could leave 10 stars I would. I had a bridge that was coming loose whilst I was on holiday so reached out to the Edinburgh dental team to book an appointment. Then when the issue became more urgent upon my return to the UK, they moved my appointment to see me on the day I returned. The reception team were so communicative and helpful, Ferhan and his colleague resolved the issue swiftly and easily, explained clearly everything that they were doing and were extremely friendly throughout. Thank you so much to the whole Edinburgh dental team!
