I am sorely disappointed with our experience with Western Heating, Air, and Plumbing. They installed our furnace 6 years ago in 2020. This winter, when it was time to kick on, it wasn’t working, so we gave them a call, and they showed up the same-day. All is well up to this point.
Inspection is performed, I am told the furnace needs a new circuit board, but no worries, the unit is only six years old, so the warranty will cover that. Parts and labor: $400. Okay. Great. They’ll have to come back with the part because the warehouse is closed for the day. We pay a dispatch and a diagnosis fee: only $68 for the service—despite it being the wrong diagnosis. So far, everything is just fine.
The next day, the service tech calls and says that because we aren’t the original owners of the home, the parts warranty is void. Bummer. The circuit board is more like $1400 without the warranty. Again, this isn’t their fault (the manufacturer makes this choice), so I guess that I can live with that reality. Here is where the problem starts: I told the tech that I felt like I’d better get a second opinion before agreeing to pay that $1400 repair—and I am glad that I did.
We called someone in, and in about four minutes, he had the furnace humming. Turns out it was a stuck-pressure switch. He said that since it hadn’t been running for six or seven months (through the summer), that they can get stuck—because they flip on and off between every cycle. After the last cycle, it was just stuck closed (or open, not sure which). He gave the switch a quick shimmy and the furnace kicked-on. The house is warm. He said that it might work all winter, or I might need a new pressure switch in the near future, but that is a couple-hundred bucks for the part and the installation.
The person from Western was ready to get me a new circuit board but the fix took the flip of a switch.
Don’t get me wrong, I wish I had known all of this myself so I didn’t need an expert, but I am glad I got a second opinion, and like I said, am disappointed with my experience with Western Heating and Air.

We have checks and balances in place to be sure we ultimately get things right. Had our technician returned and put the new board in to discover it didn't fix the issue, you wouldn't have paid for any of it. Our tech would have started over, and we are confident that he would have gotten the correct diagnosis on the second visit.

Over the weekend our shower started leaking very badly. I called Monday morning and they were able to send a plumber, Sterling, out the same day. Over the almost 4 hours he was here, he identified and fixed the shower problem and found a potential bigger problem if some of the original 25+ year old parts weren’t changed out to regulate the water pressure. We’ve hopefully avoided future problems and expense based on his expertise! I’d highly recommend them!

We had been fussing with the furnace and AC for about a year. Stockton Peterson was a great tech that came out and diagnose our needs and walked us through what our options were (even though they were limited). We ended up working out a fair deal for a new Installation that was handled by Shawn Ballard and he even let us pour a mini concrete pad last minute and worked around us. It only took a day and we were running the thermostat with our phones that night. Now we have the peace of mind with the warranty over the next several years. Thank you all.

Very, very, overpriced, along with a sloppy install. I have never felt this ripped off —and I’ve hired plenty of contractors through owning four homes and plenty of projects/repairs. Completely regret contacting them for repairs.
Jayden was personable, friendly and professional from the moment he arrived. He took the time to explain everything in detail, was very thorough in his work, and paid close attention to the smallest details. He was also very respectful of our home, putting shoe covers on before coming inside. It’s clear he takes pride in his work and cares about providing excellent customer service. He made the experience comfortable and stress-free, and made us feel confident that our HVAC system was in good hands. It’s refreshing to have someone who is not only knowledgable and thorough, but also friendly, considerate and attentive. Jaden was on time, friendly, easy to talk to, and professional. He explained what my system needed so that I could understand exactly what would be completed. Jaden didn't pressure me to add on the jobs that could wait, but clearly explained them, so we could take care of them later. He was respectful, well-groomed, and wore shoe covers in my home. I was very impressed with his service!
