Very helpful staff. We hired only foamie surfboards as we had our own (cold weather) wetsuits. Pub / restaurant next door. Set in beautiful Godrevy Notional Park.

Billy and Sonny were soooo lovely, we had the best experience. It was my partners first time surfing and he managed to stand up on day 1, after months of trying in Australia I finally felt like I actually learnt something! Not a bad word, genuinely a lovely experience and getting to use the board outside of lessons was the cherry on top. Will be going back next year x

So this was our introduction to surfing, and it was brilliant. The teachers are friendly, patient, and we all came at various levels of comfort to the water, our youngest being 10 yrs old and our oldest being mid 50's. We all enjoyed it, had a great session, lots of fun, and actually progressed fairly quickly. We will definitely be back, I would absolutely recommend them to total newbies like us. Gem of a surfing school tucked away in Gwithian a location we all left a little of our hearts in.

Local recommendations were to go to the Academy for surf lessons, and Ian, Billy, Lucas and the team were awesome. Sam (8yrs) had his first ever lessons with the guys and aside from being really friendly and welcoming, their knowledge and experience was evident. Sam’s confidence grew throughout the lessons and the guys took their time amongst the group to identify each surfers abilities and ways to improve. Would highly recommend for learning and improving, and now we have a surfer convert we’ll be back next year for some more.

We had a fantastic morning. Both of us novice surfers but still at different levels and the coaching was tailored to exactly what we needed. Being of a certain age I was even wondering if I should have just let my son do the lesson on his own, but we both had so much fun. All the people were really nice. Ollie and Woody were really chatty and showed a genuine interest in us and helping us improve our skills. I pulled a muscle on my first wave so it was hard to lie flat on the board and paddle so they launched me on to waves after that and really gave me confidence. I managed to stand up on every wave and ride it all the way in with them cheering me on. I even managed a little showboating as I was having so much fun and gaining more confidence. Highly recommended!

Had the most incredible surf lesson with Billy and his team at Gwithian. Amazing tuition for the whole family plus 1:1 support for our younger kids. He got the whole family surfing in a morning - no small feat. ! Instructors were super switched on and just really lovely people. PLUS They have a great set up with shop/loos/changing rooms/ easy parking/ and great cafe next door. Who doesn’t love easy logistics.

Had the best time ever learning to surf with Billy and Brooke (and Bruce!). We were a bit unsure how our two daughters (9yrs and 7yrs) would take to it, if the weather would be a problem or if the kids would be cold and put off… All of those worries were entirely unnecessary as Billy and Brooke sorted us with great wetsuits and boards, no one was even the slightest bit cold, they gave us a full walkthrough of how to do it before then giving us excellent instruction in the water (and what felt like a million push offs) coupled with endless patience! Thank you!!! We’re sending our friends later this week, and we’ll be back next year!
