Afonso était très intéressant comme guide du tour à pied à Porto très connaissant, très plaisant. Il était patient avec les gens du groupe. Nous le recommandons fortement.
Our food tour of Porto with Andre today was fabulous! He had planned out all sorts of delicious and authentic tastings and also shared his deep knowledge of Porto and its history and culture along our walk. We tasted cheese, wine, a braised pork sandwich (delicious!), sardines at the famous Bolhao Market, and would’ve eaten the Portuguese pastel de nata if we had room for dessert. Andre is very easy to talk to and we would recommend him for the food tour! He also does historical and hiking tours, and we will hopefully return to enjoy them one day.
Excellent Tour with Magnificent Scenery!
This was an excellent tour from start to finish. Communication with Detours was easy and seamless. We were staying outside of their pick up area, so Petito, our guide, picked us up just outside a nearby metro station. The group consisted of only 7 guests and the van was very comfortable. Petito was awesome - funny, entertaining, and took very good care of us all. A few guests spoke Spanish, so even though it was listed as an English-speaking tour, Petito, explained everything in both English & Spanish. We stopped for a coffee break in Arouca on the way to the suspension bridge. We never felt rushed and the pacing was perfect for us. Petito explained the history and logistical instructions very clearly. He walked us to the start of the bridge, and then turned us over to the bridge guide for a quick briefing before accompanying us across the bridge. Petito went back to drive the van to meet us at the end of the hike. We then walked at our own pace along the Paiva walkway. It was a beautiful day and the scenery could not have been more magnificent. Part of the walkway is currently closed due to last year's wildfire, so we could only walk 4km, rather than the full 8 km, which turned out to be just fine. Petito took us to a lovely Portuguese restaurant that specializes in the veal dish that we had. The restaurant was able to accommodate a couple who didn't eat veal with a nice alternative. After lunch, we went back to Arouca for a tour of the monastery and then back to Porto. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a small group, nature experience!

Super Day Trip From Porto
The Geres NP tour was one of the best Day trips I have ever done. Carlos was our guide for the day. He was simply amazing, to put it simply. He was prompt in picking us up, made the group feel at ease, cheered us on and showed us the outstanding viewpoints. It is a tour well worth doing due to its value for money, for viewing nature at its best and enjoying Portugese hospitality. I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot recommend it highly enough.
We had a fantastic tour today 😃 Our tour guide and driver was Pedro. He took five of us from Porto Portugal to the Paneda Geres National Park. He gave us useful information along the way about the history of this place which is very informative. We went on a few small hikes in the park and stopped at a few villages along the way. We had a great and filling lunch at a local restaurant. He is a great driver especially considering the narrow and bumpy roads on the journey. It was a very enjoyable experience and I recommend it.
Must do Experience!
I was booked for a small group tour and ended up being the only one signed up so was lucky enough to have a private all day tour. Marco was the perfect guide, answering my questions and telling me about the region. We had time to take the scenic route through the mountains and appreciate the views. The area is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The tour included a 1-hour leisurely boat ride stocked with wine and munchies, a traditional lunch with a gorgeous view over the valley, and a tour and tasting at one of the vineyards. A must do adventure when visiting Porto. Obrigada, Marco!
Great food and wine walking tour in Porto
Great food and wine tour with Daniela, starting with coffee and custard tarts then charcuterie/cheese and pork sandwiches. All delicious and great fun. We learnt a lot of history and as it was on 25 April, the anniversary of the revolution of the carnations, it felt extra special

My husband and I enjoyed a great “Secret Porto and 6 Bridges” tour with Andre today. He took us to places and vistas we would have missed, providing history as we walked. We were the only guests so the tour was at our pace and we got to see some extra sights. Thanks for the recos on revisiting Santa Clara church and trying tripas a modas for lunch. We did both!
Tour was in English - Andre is fluent
Tour covers some distance, including stairs. Wear good walking shoes.
