We booked the Sintra & Cascais Half-Day Panoramic Experience and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. Our driver, Amit, made the whole experience feel first class. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of both Sintra and Cascais, sharing insights we never would have found on our own, and he was clearly passionate about the region.
The drive along the Cascais coastline was stunning, and standing at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, was unforgettable. Amit knew exactly when to stop for the best views and photos. He also gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations for later in our trip, which we really appreciated coming from a local with such great taste.
Beyond his knowledge, Amit was a careful and confident driver on some pretty winding roads, which put us completely at ease. He was warm, professional, and attentive throughout, striking that perfect balance of being informative without ever feeling rushed or scripted. The whole tour felt personalized rather than like a typical group excursion.

Amit was the most amazing guide and driver! He was so responsive during the planning process and knew all the best stops to make between Lisbon and the Douro Valley. He made sure we were completely taken care of from start to finish and took us to an incredible viewpoint when the one we selected originally wasn’t accessible. We had a fabulous day visiting Arrabida, Setubal, and the Cristo Rei monument. We saw many things but at a relaxed and enjoyable pace. A great day trip from Lisbon!
Amazing half day trip to Sintra/Cascais with Amit
We traveled with another couple and booked this excursion separately. Amit immediately text me to ask me if we were going with this other couple. He said he wanted to make sure we were going to be tin the same car. He was on it! We were picked up at our hotel in Lisbon, ahead of schedule in a beautiful, clean SUV where water was made available to us. It was just the four of us! Amit was dressed in a suit and extremely polite and friendly. We headed to the cutest town of Sintra where Amit dropped us off and gave us time to shop and stroll. Then he took us to a local bakery where we sat and enjoyed a pastel de nata and coffee (Amit sat with us and he paid!). Then we headed to the coastal town of Cascais where we strolled the streets and had a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. During the trip, Amit was talking about the history of these towns and answered all our questions. We felt like we were in the car with a friend. We then asked if he could suggest a local place (in Lisbon) to have dinner. He not only dropped us off there, he called ahead and had a table ready for us. We did ask him to join us, but he was unable to! This excursion was a highlight of our 10 day trip. Thank you Amit.

Amit was a fabulous guide. We enjoyed our tour with him immensely. He arrived slightly early and patiently waited for us in the hotel lobby. The van was immaculate. He whisked us away to Fátima providing information along the way. Nazare was next including a lunch reservation he kindly made for us. Lunch was amazing. Last stop was the charming village of Obidos. The four of us enjoyed our day on this tour.
In my 73+ trips around the sun, Amit was one of the most professional and knowledgeable tour guides that I have had the pleasure of being served by. His courteous behavior towards myself and my wife was over the wall!
