What a fantastic tour of Gallipoli! We chose the one‑day trip from Istanbul, and although it was a long day—picked up from our hotel at 6 am and returning after 9 pm—it was absolutely worth it. If your time in Istanbul is limited and you can manage a full travel day, this tour is a must.
Our guide did an excellent job of bringing the soldiers’ experiences to life while keeping the atmosphere engaging and light‑hearted. It’s remarkable to stand in such a peaceful place today and reflect on how different it once was.
Three day private tour to Gallipoli and Troy
Crowded House Tours looked after our private tours to Gallipoli and Troy. Our tour guide Hasan was outstanding helping us understand the goals, the strategies and what actually happened from both the Turkish and British/ANZAC view points. He bought the stories to life by showing us pictures of the day (often while we stood where the pictures were taken). He also balanced respect with some fun over the three days. He was “flat out like a lizard drinking” during the tour!!!
Gallipoli day tour visiting many sites.
Excellent day tour from Istanbul. Long day of 15 hours but well worth it if short on time. As an Australian I found it a fascinating, emotional and rewarding tour. Our guide Cindy was fabulous - very knowledgeable. We visited 11 sites. Such a beautiful area despite the tragic war. Highly recommend.
We had the good fortune of having Simge as our tour guide for both the Gallipoli tour and the Troy tour. She is extremely knowledgeable, personable and presents information in an engaging way and is answers any questions you might have. She is also highly qualified, holding masters in tourism studies and history and literature.
The minibus is very comfortable and air-conditioned and the lunch on the Gallipoli tour is delicious. I'm vegan and they catered for me without me giving them advance notice - everyone had lentil soup and there were so many vegetable dishes I could eat.
An excellent day for a solo Aussie lady
An amazing experience. Comfy air con vehicle from Istanbul to Canakkale followed by a nice relaxed lunch before the tour. Our tour guide, Ibrahim, was incredibly knowledgeable with excellent English and a great sense of humour. We saw a lot of sites and the tour was just the right length of time to get to see important sites and have time for photos etc. My grandfather landed at Anzac Cove as an 18 year old and went on to survive the Western Front and came home at the age of 22. It was very moving for me to see the beach where he would have first put his boots on Turkish sand. I highly recommend this tour and Crowded House Tours for really looking after guests. Awesome day.
Fantastic! The lunch was yummy, we were impressed with the efficiency of the tour, our guide had excellent knowledge although we did feel at times the stops were a bit short to really explore each area - but in saying that we were on a tight schedule due to the long drive at each end so understand it was a necessary time limit. Overall, would highly recommend for any Auzzie’s or Kiwi’s looking to see Galipoli in a day.
Fantastic Gallipoli tour! Charlie was an incredible storyteller and knew the history well. The service was excellent, with an on-time pickup and friendly, caring staff who looked after everyone so well. Charlie’s knowledge of the ANZAC history was outstanding. Very clean and new buses. Highly recommend this tour!
We really enjoyed our tour of the Gallipoli battlefields. Hasan, our guide, had obviously done his research and shared many details and interesting background stories with us, keeping his delivery as light and entertaining as the subject matter would allow. If we had to make just one suggestion (with all due respect for the many visitors from from the formerly allied countries undertaking this tour), it would be to spend some more time on how the conflict was perceived on the Turkish side and by the many Turkish soldiers and their families (keeping in mind that the Ottoman Empire had been at war for most of the years preceding World War One already).
Worth doing and great guide
Excellent tour. Be ready for a long day in the minivan but all was as explained in the description. Our guide was an amazing young lady with fabulous knowledge and enthusiasm for the topic along with a genuine consideration for everyone involved in the conflict.
fantastic
I booked a private solo tour, and was lucky enough to have Hasan Gundugar as my guide. Simply a fantastic experience. Hasan is deeply invested in his research and deep knowledge of the subject matter , both from the Turkish and Australian perspectives. I could not recommend him any higher. Thankyou
Visiting Troy & the site of the Gallipoli landing for Australian & New Zealanders & further informed by our guide Baruk was a wonderful experience. Historical facts with his understanding of Australian psyche & relating stories of young men embarking on an adventure never to return to their families our guide related the gravity of the sacrifice shown at the Lone Pine Memorial & visiting the trenches so close together! All related with well researched facts .Thank you Baruk🇦🇺
Buen almuerzo. Azer excelente guía. Se cumplió con todas las expectativas.
