We had sunday lunch,Roast beef three juicy,tender amazing slices each,veg mixture and potatoes came seperate.Well it's the best pub sunday lunch ever.Goid portion size also.Members of staff,all helpful,polite and attentive. Service with a smile.Definatley be back.Only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Bellissimo pub in campagna. Mi sono fermata a mangiare sulla strada dall'aeroporto ed è stata una pausa incantevole: il cibo era buono ma soprattutto l'atmosfera del locale era molto accogliente. Bellissimo il giardino fiorito.
We celebrated mum’s 80th birthday at The John Barleycorn, with the whole event seamlessly planned and executed thanks to the dedication, care and hospitality of the whole team.
The food was exquisite, big portions and very good value, catered for coeliac. The staff were so friendly, service was brilliant and the whole party served on time. Such a lovely venue and great atmosphere. All staff smiled and no request too much. We will be back!

Me and my family had the most fantastic meal here at the John Barleycorn. Service was fabulous with such happy friendly staff to greet and serve you everything was just perfect, we all enjoyed different meals and my stepdad was so amazed with the pork with sprinkled crackling he talked about it all the way home! We can't wait to come back, thank you for a great night!
We were travelling home from a short break and booked into this pub for a Sunday roast on the way home. It is a really nice location, with an ample car park and outdoor garden area. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was really good, everyone thoroughly enjoyed all 3 courses.

Tiny gripe they add on a Service charge. Don't normally tip if they do that but this time I did as everything was outstanding 👌

Beautiful restaurant, we had our wedding reception there on 6th June 2026 and we couldn’t have asked for better service, the food was amazing, the staff really looked after everyone, letting us take our time between each course nothing was too much trouble for them, would highly recommend for any function or for a lovely place to go for a drink or meal thank you so much for everything you done for us and we will see you soon
