We just went to the restaurant and it was delicious! The food was great quality and was a great combination of flavors. Our waitress was also fantastic!
We had an absolutely delicious dinner at Shore Acres Resort in North Hero, Vermont. Everything from start to finish was soooo awesome💖.
My husband had the cod with a beautiful creamy preparation, and he loved every bite. I had the Caesar salad with salmon, and it was fresh, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious.
A huge compliment to the chef — the food was outstanding. The service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming.
Shore Acres continues to be such a special place, with wonderful food, incredible service, and that beautiful North Hero setting. We had a fantastic evening and will absolutely be back.

This weekend, Shore Acres hosted us for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier. From the location and views of the lake, to the impeccable rooms, to the amazing food and outstanding service, it was the most amazing experience from start to finish. Meredith was our wedding coordinator and she was the absolute best! She took all of the stress away from us and made it such an enjoyable experience. Spending the weekend at Shore Acres was a dream and I would highly recommend them for dinners, weekend getaways and weddings in a heart beat! Thank you Shore Acres! You have the most wonderful team!
We picked Shore Acres as our venue for our June 2026 wedding and we could not have been happier with our choice! If you are looking for an intimate venue for 70 people or less where everyone can stay on site and have a whole wedding weekend experience - then I can’t recommend Shore Acres enough. The location is absolutely beautiful on the edge of lake Champlain with the green mountains in the background. It was so lovely to look out our balcony and watch our guests enjoying swimming in the lake and kayaking the morning of the wedding.
A huge perk of SA is that you can hold the reception in their restaurant and have their amazing food. We had multiple guests tell us that this was the best food at a wedding they had ever had!
The staff were so helpful and accommodating and a pleasure to work with. We had a few hiccups in the early stages of planning with their former events manager, but as soon as Meredith came on board everything went smoothly. Meredith is amazing!! She was so on top of things, proactive to deal with any potential hiccups, and made our wedding day run so perfectly by doing everything from delivering my wedding bouquet when it went missing, prepping our wedding party for their speeches, fielding a million questions from my aunt who was making our wedding cake, and running our wedding playlist timing.
Months later our guests are still telling us what an amazing wedding it was and we have quite a few friends who are considering it for their own wedding venue!
We have stayed at this place multiple times over the years. Each time in the past it was a stellar experience. Not so much this time. The positives: the location of the inn with a lake facing room is beautiful, the wifi worked well, room lighting was adequate, beds were comfortable, quiet room except for the snoring from our neighbor, restaurant food was good, two chairs outside of the room was great for relaxing and enjoying the lake view.
The negatives: we arrived at 2:30 pm and were told we could not check in until the room is cleaned at 3:00 pm, which is fine. However, we sat right outside our room (#14) and watched as the cleaning staff completed the cleaning of room #14. . Around 2:45 the cleaning staff exited our room and no one ever entered it again as we sat directly outside of the room. We then checked multiple times with the heavy young dark haired girl at reception and asked if we could now check in. Each time we indicated that our reservation was for Room#14. Each time we were rebuffed with the excuse that she has to get verbal OK that the room is cleaned. In the meantime, we watched as the cleaning staff cleaned room #13. They were not done until around 4:00 pm. They then left and moved to clean another room. We had enough of the reception girl's baloney about our room cleaning not being done. When we asked why we had to wait to check in while they were cleaning another room while we sat outside our room that had obviously been cleaned she responded by telling us that room #13 cleaning had just been completed. We again indicated that we reserved room #14, NOT ROOM #13. She said, "Oh..." She obviously does not listen to what is being said to her.
Another time with the same young lady, we asked for 2 floor mats. She gave us 2 hand towels. Is it really that hard to listen to what someone is saying???
Bottom line-this young lady should not be handling reception. She wasted over an hour and a half of our time because she didnt listen to us telling her we had reserved room #14. This is unexcusable.
Along with this episode the hot water must be run at least 5 minutes before you actually get hot water.
Lastly, the shower curtain doesn't extend to the bottom edge of the shower and causes the water to flood the bathroom floor.
I don't care how wonderful you think this place is we can't tolerate someone wasting our time because they are incapable of handling the responsibility.

Thank you for your comments and feedback as it provides input on how to improve future experiences at our inn. However, we are perplexed you found it necessary to write a scathing review over a simple miscommunication, one that we apologized for and attempted to alleviate to make the rest of your stay better.
Your early arrival at our inn was a surprise since we clearly communicated to you the day before over the phone that we would not be able to accommodate an early check-in prior to our official check-in time due to a full inn. Yes, our front desk staff miscommunicated to you what room you were booked for and the room was still being prepared for your stay. We own that error. We were more than happy to agree to your request to allow you to sit outside of the room overlooking the lake and enjoy the property while you waited. As soon as we realized our mistake, we provided you with the keys to your room and apologized for the confusion, which included the additional towel request. As further acknowledgement of our mistake, we then made sure you were seated at one of our best window tables in our dining room and provided you with a complimentary appetizer. We felt we had made a more than reasonable effort to rectify the situation and we are disappointed that you do not agree.
We regret, however, you felt it necessary to publicly belittle the appearance and weight of one of our staff members and we do not understand how such comments would improve the overall situation. The comments were unnecessary and totally inappropriate.
We sincerely wish you joy and the best of luck on your future travels.

Just had dinner in the main dinning room. It is outstanding. Food, service, atmosphere is all top
notch with excellent prices. Make sure to make a reservation.
The service, the ambiance, the beautiful lake views—and the food! We ordered the beef bourguignon, and it was absolutely outstanding. A truly wonderful dining experience!

Pour d'ultimes vacances dans la paix et la beauté, je suis venue et vais revenir a Shore Acres. Nous apprécions le site bien sûr, mais aussi la grande qualité du service, l'attention aux détails, les multiples activités disponibles. L'équipe est disponible et accueillante. On peut juste passer des heures a regarder le ciel, les oiseaux, le lac si près. Je suis québécoise et mon ami est américain et peut difficilement voyager au Canada. C'est donc un endroit de choix pour nous (et le rabais appliqué fait la différence !).
Nice dinner here! Location is spectacular, right on lake Champlain. Our party of four had the pan fried skate wing, Braised Beef Bourguignon, Grilled Pork Flat Iron, Duck breast. Everyone was happy with their meal. The skate was perfectly cooked which I enjoyed with a glass of Sancerre.
Food was overpriced and subpar for what was portrayed. Dishes were slathered in oil or butter, vegetables were poorly cooked.

I had dinner (did not stay at Inn). Best dinner in quite a while! Everything was perfect and I'm a highly critical food curmudgeon.
Mussels were perfectly cooked, delicious well balanced sauce of wine lemon garlic thyme.
Same for halibut, perfectly cooked, wonderful sauce.
The bread at the start was amazing, a litmus test.
Service was both friendly and professional, a difficult balancing act. And view was gorgeous and very comfortable atmosphere.
Will return as often as I can get a reservation! Cannot think of a single thing that wasn't spot on and delicious.

Great views, great food, tranquility and pleasure on the banks of Lake Champlain.
This was our 6th visit with the same group of friends. It's relaxed, friendly and the main restaurant has really good food -- far better than you'd expect in a location like this. Excellent management, good staff. We swim in the lake, rent a pontoon boat nearby, use the inn's paddle-boards and kayaks, play corn-hole, visit their casual "Bravo Zulu" outdoor casual dining site, strike up conversations with other guests, eat well and enjoy the breezes off the lake. The rooms are unremarkable but spacious, clean and comfortable. Almost every one has a direct view of the lake -- if you just sat in your room looking out the window it would still be worth it. It's unassuming, peaceful and rejuvenating. Wonderful place. Already have our reservation for next year.
