We're so pleased with how the windows turned out, the refurbished frames look so good. Anecdotally, they seemed to have improved the soundproofing, although we live practically on top of a main road, so does not completely shut out the noise, the casement windows more than the bay windows. Cannot comment on the thermal quality as they were done in the middle of the heatwave, but we are fairly confident there will be a big improvement come winter. Cannot fault the workmen, they were reliable and extremely hard working, even when it was 30C + Would definitely use them again if we ever needed windows to be refurbished in future.

Very happy with the new windows they look fantastic. Keeping the original windows was so important to us and you have made that possible. We only had the upstairs completed and can't believe the difference in the sound and temperature from downstairs. Will be booking the downstairs in ASAP. The team are also fantastic and worked incredibly hard they treated our home with respect and keep evething as clean as they can. I would definitely recommend. Hopefully we will get the same team next time! The neighbours are also asking who done the work and have commented on how hard you worked ! Very happy customers.

Scott James did our restoration work years ago, so when it came time to sort the insulation, there was no question who we'd call. Glad to say they're still the same lot. Still doing things properly. The new VIG glazing has made the house genuinely warmer, and a fair bit quieter too. Lovely to see familiar faces, lovely to see they still take pride in the work. Wouldn't go anywhere else

The end result genuinely surprised us. The original frames have been brought back to life sanded, restored, repainted and the new glazing has made a noticeable difference to both the temperature and the noise from the road. For roughly what secondary glazing would've cost, we've got something that actually looks like part of the house rather than bolted onto it.

Honest service and impressive results The work was slightly delayed because of an issue with the glazing delivery, but Victoria kept us updated throughout, which we really appreciated. The installation happened during one of the coldest days of the year — I honestly felt for the guys working in that wind. Fair play to them, they just got on with it. And I have to say, we could feel the difference almost straight away once the sashes with the new glazing were back in. The house felt warmer instantly. The finish is good — not “brand new window” perfect, but that’s not what we were expecting anyway. It’s more like a really well-done refurbishment, and the windows still keep their original character, just much better performing. What really sets SJ apart, in my opinion, is the value of the service. From the research I did before committing, they seem to install some of the best-performing glazing available. The installation itself is relatively quick, but be prepared for an early start. If we were doing it again, I’d probably plan it further in advance — but I’d definitely go with the same company

A huge improvement without replacing the windows We bought the house with single glazed windows, and they came with all the usual issues – draughts, cold rooms, and just generally not being very efficient. Alex and his team suggested restoring and reglazing the windows instead of replacing them. We were a bit sceptical at first, but after seeing a project they’d already completed in Chelmsford, we felt confident enough to go ahead. Honestly, we’re so glad we did. The difference is massive – no draughts at all, the house feels warmer, and the windows still look original which was really important to us. The vacuum glazing performance is genuinely second to none. Can’t recommend Alex and his team enough. Brilliant work from start to finish
