I attended the Recife Immersion program with Rafael over 5 days (6 hours per day). Overall it was a great way to get to know a new Brazilian city, while also learning and practicing Portuguese. Rafael was a great teacher and guide and took great care to steer our focus in my areas of interest. I am leaving this experience feeling super motivated to keep going, with a bit more confidence in Portuguese. If you are considering an immersion outside of Rio, I strongly recommend the Recife program.

I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone who is serious about learning Portuguese. Learning a language can be very challenging, and everyone learns differently. Because of that, it’s important to trust the process and ask your professor as many questions as you need. I was able to learn much faster than I imagined, thanks to Antonio.67 He was always attentive during class and would ask me follow-up questions about the learning materials to make sure I understood what we were learning. Speaking of the learning materials, I really enjoyed the lesson plans. I was able to learn useful Portuguese and actually use what I learned in everyday conversations. If there’s one thing I would have wanted more of from my experience, it would be more time in class to review previous lessons and areas where I felt I was struggling. Sometimes the lessons can feel like they move pretty quickly. That being said, trust the process, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to speak! Thank you, Rio & Learn, for such a great experience! ❤️

Immersion in Recife I had the chance to spend a week in Recife, during which I took portuguese immersion classes. It was absolutely fantastic ! The teacher, Rafael, shared a lot of interesting historic and cultural facts about his city, all the while helping me improve my portuguese. I had a lot of fun while learning. I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to discover a wonderful city and practicing a lot of portuguese !

Ik heb tien privélessen gehad bij RealLearn met een hele leuke, enthousiaste leraar, Yasmin. We hebben veel geoefend met conversatie en wat ik graag wilde, maar ook een gestructureerd lesplan gevolgd, waarin we basisvaardigheden en kennis hebben behandeld. Daarnaast heeft deze school ook veel te bieden naast de lessen. Het RIO-live concept is heel erg leuk en biedt leuke excursies aan in en rond de stad, die zowel helpen met het leren van de taal als met de stad en de Braziliaanse cultuur. Al met al is het een hele leuke school om te kiezen, omdat ze de fun in het leren vooropstellen.

Rio and Learn is a great school. The teachers are friendly and create very relaxed atmosphere. New students arrive every week so there is always someone new, but there are usually some staying for longer as well so there is a nice community, very easy to join. The classes are focused on practise, speaking but you will certainly learn a lot of grammar too… its easy to improve quickly and as they say… its all fun learning. Teachers also care about our feedback a lot and you are always heard when needed. There is a lot of afternoon activities that you can join, and weekend options as well so you can really immerse yourself in Brazilian culture and Portuguese language. I am very happy I picked Rio and Learn. I moved to Brazil alone, to stay for longer time, and needed to improve my Portuguese for professional life as well. At Rio and learn I advanced quickly and I also found a community, thanks to which I never feel lonely here.

Ótimo (the best) I had a wonderful time in Recife with Rafa in the 6 hours immersion program. He is an amazing teacher, combining casual (and profound) conversation with grammar drills. He diligently corrects mistakes and if they are reoccurring he will make up an exercise on the spot to drill the correct way of saying it. In just 6 hours I feel like my pronunciation and grammar have improved dramatically and most importantly my confidence speaking has never been higher. I can not recommend this enough and if I ever return to Recife I would not miss this for the world.

Oi galera! Estudar português é uma coisa; conhecer, compartilhar e viver o idioma e outro negócio. Os professores, as atividades e o staff são muito legais As atividades fora da escola são muito úteis pra conhecer a cidade e melhorar o vocabulário. Além gostaria falar sobre as aulas de dança que tive, a professora foi muito legal, eu aprendi a ter ritmo e dançar muito bem, eu gostaria voltar pra dançar mais.
