We appreciate your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience with our agency has been disappointing, and I completely understand how frustrating it can be to wait for services your family needs.

Unfortunately, the demand for bilingual services, particularly for families who primarily speak Spanish, is very high, and we currently have a limited number of bilingual RBTs and BCBAs available. In addition, afternoon session times are our most requested, which has extended the waitlist for those hours even further.

While we continue to work on expanding our team and availability, we would be more than happy to provide you with a list of other agencies that may be able to support you sooner. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office if you’d like that information or if we can help in any other way.

Thank you for your feedback. We always aim to provide the highest quality of services, beginning with our intake process. To further clarify some of your concerns, we are an ABA agency that provides morning, afternoon, and evening therapy to our families. Roughly 50% of our clients participate in after-school services. We even provide weekend services to families that are more limited with their time during the week or have fluctuating schedules.

Regarding our requirement for a minimum amount of hours, Rainbow ABA’s minimum hour expectation is based on the treatment models recommended in the ABA Treatment of ASD Practice Guidelines, 2nd Edition from the BACB.

According to our practice guidelines, it is recommended for individuals in need of focus-based ABA therapy (i.e., a select few domains) that they receive anywhere between 10-25 hours of ABA therapy per week. Individuals requiring comprehensive-based ABA therapy (i.e., a multitude of domains) typically require between 30-40 hours per week. We do not make treatment dosage recommendations until a full assessment is conducted as we need to assess the specific needs of the learner, but we do adhere to the minimum amount of 10 hours per week. When less than 10 hours per week is utilized, progress on goals becomes much more difficult to obtain, ultimately hindering clinical outcomes.

We sincerely apologize for the difficulties that you have encountered during our intake process. We truly know how difficult of a process it can be and try our best to make it as smooth as possible for our families. As you know, referral rates for ABA services are very high and we receive countless intakes per day. We try our best to respond to each inquiry in a timely manner. Unfortunately, we are not able to tell a family if they will be placed on our waitlist until we receive and review their documentation, as the waitlist status depends on the hours you prefer services, the days of the week of services, the location of services, and our staff availability reflective on your preference. We genuinely wish we could move the process along faster as the last thing we would want to do is waste your time.
