Bellisimo Abbruzzo We had always wanted to see Abbruzzo but we only had one day available. Fabio picked us up at our hotel in Rome. It was a private tour for my wife & myself. During the 2 hour drive, he was a font of information about what we saw along the way & what we were going to see. But nothing could prepare us for the beauty we experienced in Gran Sasso National Park. Each place we stopped had gorgeous views, the most breathtaking of which was Lo Specchio d'Abbruzzo (the mirror of Abbruzzo).Lunch followed at Ristoro Mucciante, where he cooked sausages & Arrosticini for us; absolutely delicious 😋!We then went to the most physically challenging attraction of the day- Rocca Calascio, the highest castle in Italy. Fabio helped my wife to negotiate the steep climb to the top, stopping when we needed to rest. We were rewarded with even more spectacular views. The day concluded at Santo Stefano di Sessino where Fabio told us the fascinating history of this beautiful little town. The ride home was filled with stories & recommendations for things to do & places to eat in Rome.It was a truly the best one day tour we've ever taken.

Best Experience - do not pass this one up! This was one of the top highlights of our trip to Italy!! My family heritage is from this region which made it that much more special to me!! The scenery was so calming and relaxing - the three stops were experiences that you can’t even put into words and Fabio was the more gracious, knowledgeable host!! A must do when in Italy! See the areas no one sees!!

This was a wonderful escape from the crowds and noise of the Rome. Our group loved the beautiful scenery and stops at truly unique locations. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see more of Italy than just the cities. We enjoyed the fresh air, the mountains and meeting people in their small towns.

From start to finish, our day in Abruzzo with Fabio was unforgettable. He picked us up at our hotel and by the end, we were hugging goodbye like old friends. Abruzzo is breathtaking with dramatic mountains, quiet valleys, and villages that feel frozen in time. Rocca Calascio, perched above the clouds, is one of the most stunning castles we’ve seen. Santo Stefano di Sessanio and other hill towns were spectacular...full of charm and history. Lunch at Ristoro Mucciante, a rustic mountain barbecue, was simple but incredibly flavourful. Fabio made the experience truly special. He is knowledgeable, kind, adventurous, energetic and deeply passionate about his home town of Abruzzo. Best Tour I Have Ever Had My wife and I came to Italy to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and Fabio made sure that the tour he took us on had lasting memories. Unique Experience In Italy Fabio does an amazing tour. My husband and I have traveled throughout Italy for over two weeks and this was our favorite part. The scenery of Abruzzo is beautiful, the lunch was a unique and fun experience, and Fabio has a ton of knowledge which he shares. Fabio does a terrific job... Fabio does a terrific job of showing the highlights of Abruzzo. The scenery is amazing, the lunch wonderful, and Fabio’s knowledge is vast. My husband and I traveled throughout Italy for over two weeks and this was our favorite booking. It was great to get away from the touristy crowds of Venice, Florence, and Rome.

Great day in Abruzzo Just do it ✔️ Book this amazing trip with Fabio 🌞 My boyfriend and I spend a week in Rome. We decided this day trip to Abruzzo was the best choice for a day out of Rome and we didn't regret it! Fabio has a great personality and oh the knowledge 😳 We learned so much and saw all the best places. Beautiful landscapes, small cities and quality tasting food 👌I've spent the last decade on physiotherapy after surgery, so thought it might be to challenging, but great help and patience from Fabio. This day trip has been one of my favourite memories of Italy. Only a couple of hours out of Rome, Abruzzo is an absolute delight. Fabio is a local with a thorough knowledge of the history and culture of the area. This was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Abruzzo is breath taking and has so much to offer more than many know. From the delicious fresh food and wine of this region, to the warmth of the people, the awe inspiring nature, and the astonishing wild life, this place is like a dream come true! Fabio is so passionate and knowledgeable of this region, and he is very personable as well. The transportation from Rome flows with ease and the drive goes quick when you have someone like Fabio to get to know about you and what experiences you would like to have so he can make it happen. This tour exceeded every expectation we had - booking this is a MUST! The price includes transportation, a fully private tour, the best arrosticini you absolutely need to try, other delicious local ingredients and wine, experiencing wild life horses and sheep roaming through the mountains, the incredible nature views, exploring a fortress, and a beautiful historic village, this is a steal!

Hidden Gem! Abruzzo, Italy Where to start! We’ve been to Italy 5 times and have been on numerous excursions, but this one has to rate #1. It was completely unexpected. From the hustle and bustle of Rome, which we love, to the fantastical beauty, tranquility and hidden gem of Abruzzo! The picturesque landscape is nothing we’ve ever seen before, we stood there in awe of its majestic ora. Roaming wild horses and walking along side a herd of sheep with their shepherd is a hard to explain feeling. We have become huge Italian food lovers, and our lunch at Ristoro Mucciante’s (not a traditional restaurant) further enhanced our Italian food experiences. The physical structure appeared out of nowhere in this vast landscape with a smokey haze and alluring aroma, as small groups of people gathered around homemade charcoal bar-b-q’s, cooking sheep skewers, sausages and other local meats. We indulged in sheep skewers and sausages and added pecorino cheese with “vino de casa”. It was an amazing vibe! The day was far from over as we visited two other medieval villages that were equally breathtaking. Santo Stefano di Sessanio & Rocca Calascio. Fabio, our guide, was top drawer. Without his knowledge of the region, his passion for the history and his genuine kindness, our day would have been less than complete. His love and passion for Abruzzo is authentic and wants his guests to discover what he already knows. We don’t usually write reviews, but do realize we should when memorable experiences were had. After several days of crowds and lines in beautiful Rome, this was truly the opposite escape. The scenic drive through the national park of mountains was breathtaking. If you enjoy the serenity and scenic views of a national park, this tour is perfect for you and will not disappoint. Leave the crowds behind for a day and escape to the country for views in every direction, the clean crisp air, the food, animals, medieval castle ruins and village with amazing views in every direction and a beautiful small village that is something out of a storybook. The bbq stop had plenty of delicious local foods and was absolutely delicious. Fabio is passionate about Abruzzo and is very knowledgeable about the region. Fabio is an excellent tour guide, chef and driver. This was truly a wonderful escape for a day from the crowds and lines in Rome. If you love the scenery and serenity of national parks this is absolutely for you.

I highly recommend QUA for the tourist who wants to see places outside of Rome that you wouldn’t normally have access to. For our trip to Abruzzo today, Fabio took us to a Medici castle which was 1,000 years old, a wonderful city on a hill which words can’t even describe, and a phenomenal out door bbq place in the country with amazing food and spectacular views. Our guide was super knowledgeable of Abruzzo history and had lots of interesting trivia to share! A+

The trip was awesome thanks to our private guide Fabio. We visited several towns in Abruzzo and, thanks to Fabio's info, we learned all about their history and culture. He was a really nice and attentive person, and we had a lot of laughs and adventures together.
