My father was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer in early June, and we managed to muddle along (requesting help and getting approvals at the normal pace, thinking we had a few weeks to get things into place) until he fell and his situation was suddenly an emergency. Dad had said many times that he wanted to die at home and luckily the fall did not preclude this. However, we had to find hospice/palliative care very quickly.
I called Indy of QualiCare and she came to speak with us that same afternoon; she made arrangements and started 24/7 care for Dad within a couple of hours.
Dad couldn’t have had better care. Indy helped navigate through a very stressful situation, with several agencies trying to accommodate competing priorities and different parameters; on top of that, this was just before Canada day, when so many people take extended weekends and thus services (and even medical supplies stores that were open) were very hard to find.
In spite of these difficulties Indy managed to arrange to bring a hospital bed into Dad’s suite and get medical staff lined up for the next several days; they took very good care of Dad right up until the very end, and then helped me navigate the transfer to the funeral home.
The caregivers from QualiCare were very compassionate and competent. It was no fun to be stuck in our situation but Indy helped Dad spend his final days as comfortably as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend Indy and QualiCare to anyone needing hospice or palliative care.

I was recovering from a crush injury to my arm. My nurse was very helpful with wound care but how to care for minor issues in between visits. The wound vac is a unique tool that has a few quirks to keep it operating properly. I always felt supported and my questions were always answered.

We have a case of an older lady with progressive dementia living at home. We want her to stay at home rather than at a long term care facility for as long as possible. To achieve this goal we contacted Qualicare to supply us home care assistants. The response was immediate and it is now almost three years that this has been happening.
Qualicare initially discussed with us the type of caregiver that we required. The person first allotted to us turned out to be so proficient and caring that she is with us to this day.
As expected, the patient's condition has constantly deteriorated so now Qualicare supplies help 12 hours daily. As this cannot be served by one person, we now have about 4 professionals who take turns. All are amazingly good with the patient and the household. Carefully selected by Qualicare after regular consultations with us to fit our specific needs.
We couldn't have chosen a better organization to help us!

Qualicare was good at the beginning but then things slowly start changing. Set your schedule as a trial period for a couple months and 6 months later when you think things are all good they take your evening staff away saying the staff didn’t wanna come but when I asked the staff they said they weren’t asked. Change your shift in a matter of hours but you had to give 24 hour notice or you were still charged. Then when you confront the owner to contact a lawyer she releases you with no home care after just being released from the hospital with sepsis and heart issues that need meds. Promises here are not kept! 4 days with no home care, meds not regular time, no meals and relying on who ever and even if they can help. Tread lightly I had one amazing staff the others couldn’t speak or understand English, performed religious prayers and such without asking, had no respect for my home. I can say a whole lot more but I won’t but thanks for leaving me to the wolves! Thank you so friggin much!!
