Dave is a fantastic teacher. He does a great job of simplifying things, building fundamentals and making sure you have a good base to progress from. The structure his lessons give makes me confident that I will make strong progress and I have a clear path I can follow in order to improve. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

Dave is a fabulous guitar teacher. I have been having lessons with him for over 5 years. My lessons are via Zoom and that works really well for me. He is very patient, kind and understanding. He quickly analyses the problem and offers solutions and works to find what works best for you. Recently I have had a pain in one of my fingers and Dave adapted things to allow me to continue to play. He is great at progressing you through harder songs and always takes your musical preferences into account. I have learnt so much - thank you Dave

I’ve been playing guitar for around 25 years and Dave is without a doubt the best guitar teacher I’ve ever had. What makes him stand out is how quickly he can hear exactly what you need to work on. Within minutes he’ll spot things in your timing, technique or playing that other teachers completely miss, and he explains everything in a way that actually makes sense. His musical knowledge is incredible, but lessons never feel overwhelming or overly technical. Everything is really well structured, the handouts are genuinely useful, and there’s always a clear feeling that you’re improving properly rather than just learning random bits and pieces. He’s also unbelievably patient and pays attention to every little detail, which has helped me improve things I’d been struggling with for years. At the same time, the lessons are always relaxed, enjoyable and fun. On top of all that, Dave is just a genuinely friendly, easy-going person who clearly cares about his students and loves teaching. I always leave lessons feeling motivated to play and improve. I honestly can’t recommend him highly enough.

I have been having lessons with Dave for a while now and must say he is a fantastic teacher. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning from his breadth of experience and musicality. He explains technique and guidance very clearly, and goes beyond this to help you understand music theory, how compositions are constructed, and the effect this has on the listener. He is also very patient. I would 10/10 recommend him.

Have been doing piano and guitar lessons for 6 months now. Have had issues with previous teachers not having much structure to their lessons, it's safe to say that Dave's lessons are the most structured and enjoyable lessons I have ever had. An all round lovely guy and a great teacher.

Dave is an outstanding teacher. He combines broad musical knowledge across a range of styles with an excellent approach to children—he knows how to make music accessible in a way that fits their individual needs. My son really loves music, but he struggled with consistency and practice. Dave guided my son (and us) and helped turn practice into something effective. As a result, my son’s pace of progress improved dramatically, and he also enjoyed the learning process much more.

I've been taking bass lessons with Dave for about 3 years now, and I can't recommend him enough! I really appreciate how patient he is and how the lessons are adjusted to what I like and the pace I need. Every week I walk out feeling like I’ve actually learned something new.
