We worked directly with the owner Michael and William Shock who patiently walked with us every step of the way in the process, including advising us when we applied for a SCEIP loan. And when we needed an adjustment to the design to maximize our solar collection, they came up with a plan and made that correction as part of our contract price. You will definitely get what you pay for: expert guidance in designing the system, top of the line solar panels and batteries, quality installation, and the integrity to stay the course until the system is up and running perfectly!! These folks are fantastic, fair, and thorough. I got quotes from multiple solar installers, and this one just felt right. Wasn't trying to sell me financing or any other scams. In fact, the payback on the system ended up being on the edge, and the team really pushed me to consider whether I wanted the system. It's rare to find honest people these days.
Michael & Sun was recommended by two of our friends, and after getting 3 quotes we decided to use them as well. From the beginning we were impressed by the professionalism of the M&S team. So, we're picky. And Michael and Sun's team surpassed our expectations at every turn. No one wants surprises when doing this type of project and we didn't have one surprise. What they promised, they delivered. Their communication was excellent from beginning to end and it is like a well oiled machine. Except with really nice humans.

We are 1 year in on our 2024 solar installation from Michael & Sun. We couldn't be happier with the system. It has worked flawlessly and reduced our PGE bill dramatically -- down to a few hundred dollars annually. M&S was super helpful on our install and handled all permits and etc. We put 24 panels on our roof which seems a lot but we have an electric car and you need a lot of panels to charge a car.
Michael & Sun installed my solar panels two years ago. The process was seamless, it was done in one day. I've been very happy with my system for the last two years and the production of power for my home. They have great customer service.

I rarely write reviews, but with the excellent service received from Michael and Sun Solar on a new PV system, I can't remain silent.
From the beginning to the end, the project went so smoothly. This is a testament of the professionalism and attention to detail by everyone on Michael's team. Starting with Matt the design engineer, we were presented with items to consider in a clear manner allowing us to understand the trade offs and make choices that made sense for our situation. One example was the prediction of increased energy harvesting if nearby trees were trimmed or removed.
Once a design proposal was agreed upon and signed, the project manager William took over communicating the installation details, PGE interaction, and project schedule with us. Even though the start date would be several months away Michael and Sun Solar came through and actually started the job early! Material was delivered the first day as William took inventory of the many components. The next day installers Brett and Sean and the owner Michael arrived along with the project manager William. It was impressive to watch Michael and his team discuss their installation plan then begin to execute. It really built my confidence in the quality of work that was about to begin. In two days Brett and Sean completed the install of a 28 panel 11kW system with Michael and William checking in on the progress occasionally. The panel layout looks great on my shop roof and the interior wiring is cleanly routed as well.
A couple days after installation the system was inspected and passed. But it did take a few more days to receive permission to operate from PGE. It's been on the grid now for about 2 weeks and performing as predicted. I've never had such a smooth experience with a company before. Hats off to the team at Michael and Sun Solar!! Highly recommended.

The job itself was silky smooth. Amazing how quickly the panels and related equipment went in. The team helped us solve some tricky issues in connecting with our electrical panel and setting the system up for future energy storage. I can't say enough good things about Michael and Sun Solar! After hearing presentations and getting proposals from Vivant and Sun Run, a friend told us about Michael and Sun. The sales rep, Ian Petrich, provided a very thorough analysis of our power usage and proposed a system that met our needs. They also provided no-down financing options at a reasonable rate. The entire sales process was low-pressure. The system was completely installed over two different days with no hassle at all. Just received our first PG&E bill and we're saving money already!
