A wonderful well established heritage Railway the staff and volunteers where knowledgeable and friendly. The trains were well kept and the timetable ran Steam and Diesels throughout the day. It has no designated parking but there are some pay and display car parks reasonable close by,
Visited during a food festival. With stalls on the platform it was dangerously overcrowded amazed no-one fell on the track.
A trip for non rail buffs as well as the experts.

It was a gala weekend for their 50th anniversary, they had a beer and gin festival as part of the weekend with a bbq and entertainment, and cream teas on some of the train journeys.
Had such a magical experience today on the plate of a steam chain at Llangollen railway I saw the workings of the signal box and was given so much information about the train The experience of travelling with the driver and fireman was amazing and it is something I will always treasure. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this experience. Well worth the money thank you Llangollen railway
Visited in August for the Rail Ale Evening, a really good fun and well organised event. Will be back again in the future!

A Great Railway
My partner and I had a really lovelly day at LLangollen railway on 24/09/26. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. they even sorted out my car park payment for me as We both wanted the loo and the train was due out soon. We got on the train and then I realised as we were about to leave that I had not paid for parking where the guard said he could sort it out for me and used his app on his phone to pay for me and then said just put the money in the donation box. Well beyond the call of duty, thank you very much also to the other staff members who made comunications to sort my problem. Through out our stay at LLangollen every one was like one big family. It is one of the best railways to be proud of and support. they have accomplised a lot since covid and without the Volunteers we could have lost a very lovely railway. Gerald and Ann
Nice little mooch on the steam train. We went there and back. Great scenery and very pleasant.
