Sophisticated French-Italian restaurant with a lovely ambiance. Jacopo - Executive Chef, with fine French Michelin-star training, cooks your steak to perfection. Adriana - Sous Chef, has been selected to compete in the 2026 EXPOGAST Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg - and her desserts, especially her baked chocolate custard, is to die for. Romain, with his Jacaklope background and exquisite French taste, can recommend you any spirit, liquor or wine to pair with your food.

Dining at La Madonna was an absolute highlight from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and inviting decor set the tone for a memorable evening. The service was nothing short of exceptional. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, offering spot-on recommendations without ever feeling intrusive. Courses arrived at a seamless pace, and our glasses were never left empty. The food, however, stole the show. Every dish was executed with incredible care and precision. The flavors were vibrant, layered, and balanced, showcasing top-tier ingredients cooked to perfection. The handmade pasta had that ideal al dente bite, the sauces were rich and authentic, and the dessert provided the perfect finishing touch. It is rare to find a spot where outstanding hospitality and culinary excellence align so effortlessly. La Madonna delivers on every front, and I cannot wait to return. Highly recommended.

Came here with a reservation for dinner and had the chef's selection menu which included the following: - Bread service; the restaurant incorporates both Italian and French cooking so two types of bread was served; focaccia with olive oil and French bread roll with butter. They were tasty and the staff also offered refills which was nice - Amuse-bouches; there were three bite-sized snacks. The foie gras terrine was a bit too rich for me, the sardine tartlet was nice and not fishy, and the bresaola puff pastry was my favourite out of the three - Scampi all'arrabbiata; the scampi was fresh and sweet, served in a spiced tomato consomme which packed some heat, and the caviar and foie added savouriness and richness to the dish - Tuna, basil, caviar; the bluefin tuna tartare was fresh and tasty with the rich caviar and the smooth earthy basil coulis - Turbot and peas; the grilled fish fillet was flaky and meaty paired with a nice savoury turbot jus and a side of fresh garden peas tartlet - Ravioli bordelaise; the dish has a striking green colour utilising tarragon for the ravioli, sauce and leaf-shaped tuile. The ravioli was nice and al dente with a rich savoury and buttery bone marrow and bordelaise filling - Tongue assoluto; there was a choice between the wagyu tongue and the dry-aged duck breast for the main course. I went with the wagyu tongue which was paired with a side of cavolo nero and guanciale jus which had a deep savoury taste. The tongue was fried, giving it a crusty exterior, and inside was tender with a shredded meat texture. It was a bit dry towards the end as there was not enough sauce - Negroni caviar; it is their house-made barrel-aged negroni caviar which had a jelly-like texture with a bittersweet citrus taste - Flan noir & passionfruit; dessert was a baked dark chocolate mousse which had a fudge brownie texture, balanced with a fruity and mildly tart passionfruit curd. It was pretty good but a little heavy on the chocolate with the additional aerated cocoa pieces on top Also ordered the lobster risotto from the ala carte menu. The risotto was creamy in a rich seafood bisque paired with sweet garden pea coulis. It was served with a whole lobster tail which was firm, springy and meaty, and was seared to give it a slight crispy crust. It was tasty but personally I preferred the lobster to be cooked a little softer. Overall enjoyed the chef's selection menu, favourites were the ravioli bordelaise, the tuna tartare, the turbot. Also the manager and staff were friendly, pacing of the meal was good and they explained the dishes well.

I photographed my plate for the app to count calories and find this place. The caviar dish had few calories remaining and tasted good. The room is quiet and comfortable.

Really lovely and special set menu, the staff tried hard to please and very good value. The lamb was divine. Lots of options you’d struggle to make at home so made for an excellent experience meal. Atmosphere is calm and it’s easy to talk to people at your table. Tables are a good size too.

The food was delicious! Everything we ordered was great, but the roasted duck was definitely the standout and perfectly cooked. The service was 10/10 as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Such a great dining experience. Highly recommend!

I’d like to start by saying we dined here as a group of 7 and spent approximately $920 on a set menu, additional dishes and drinks. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. The service was incredibly slow, with long gaps between dishes that made the meal drag on far longer than it should have. The biggest issue, however, was when the cappelletti was served. The pasta was genuinely undercooked, so I politely mentioned it to our waiter. Instead of addressing the concern, the manager came over and proceeded to lecture me about what “al dente” means, insisting I simply didn’t understand pasta. It wasn’t al dente—it was undercooked. Rather than listening to feedback or offering a solution, my concern was dismissed in a condescending and unprofessional manner. What made the situation even worse was that my dish was taken away, but no replacement was offered. We were simply left without my meal until I specifically asked whether a new dish was being made. It shouldn’t have been up to me to ask—good hospitality would have been to acknowledge the issue and proactively replace it. To make matters worse, when I requested a proper tax invoice at the end of the night, the manager was unable to provide one showing that payment had been made. For a restaurant charging nearly $1,000 for a table, I would expect much better organisation and customer service. The food itself had some highlights, but they were completely overshadowed by the poor service and the manager’s attitude. We left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

The duck breast was definitely the standout dish. It was incredibly tender, and the duck jus paired with it beautifully, creating a truly impressive combination. The only downside was that the vegetables were far too salty, which unfortunately overpowered the delicate flavor of the duck. On the other hand, the mashed potatoes were wonderfully creamy and smooth—absolutely delicious. The pasta was OK. Overall, it’s a fine dining restaurant that’s worth trying, especially if you’re ordering the duck

An unforgettable dining experience at La Madonna. We recently experienced the Caviar After Dark degustation and every course was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The amuse-bouches were the perfect start, and the tuna tartare with caviar was incredibly fresh and delicate. The standout for me was definitely the Spaghetti au Caviar with lemon butter — absolutely divine. The lobster course was rich and elegant, and the Oyster Shell & Negroni Caviar dessert was truly a piece of art. Such a unique and memorable Melbourne dining experience with exceptional service and atmosphere. Highly recommend for a special night out.

Had dinner here the other night with my husband for our wedding anniversary. We decided to go for the Chef's Selection set menu as it was a special occasion, and absolutely everything from the ambiance, to the service and the food was top notch. They were also able to cater to my numerous dietaries and the Venue Manager even came up to check that I was doing well (still alive). When I say that was the softest tongue I've ever had in my mouth, 100% not an understatement and would definitely recommend! The Australian Mule was also excellent. We'll be back to try some other dishes soon!

One must commend Joe for his impressively perceptive recommendations, each thoughtfully aligned with even the most particular of customer preferences. Such attentiveness elevates the entire experience. The drinks were impeccably crafted, while the cuisine proved equally commendable—refined, well-executed, and altogether most satisfying.
