I needed an urgent plumping issue fixed so they were able to book us in next day. Initially there was an issue with their booking system but reception got in touch with the plumbing technician and had them come over right away. The technician was professional and courteous and got the job done in 15 min. Overall very happy with the results.

Firestone came to inspect and clean my gas fireplace. The technician arrived on schedule and did the work quickly. Very good service . Thank you James and Harvey. October 2026 Firestone was here again this year for an annual cleaning and inspection of my gas fireplace. Harvey was thorough, cleaned the FP. checked for leaks and replaced batteries in the starter, a fireplace needs batteries, who knew 🙄. Thank you so much Harvey and Julie! Great service! The most blatant act of fraud from a repair service I've ever encountered. I had a problem with water from condensation from my heat pump leaking from my furnace. The Kirkstone repairman unplugged the blockage, then told my wife that the furnace was destroyed, using it would produce harmful carbon emissions and needed to be replaced and that we should also consider replacing the heat pump. He provided an estimate of 14K. I wasn't present but I found this hard to believe so I had two separate repair services look at the furnace (of course having to pay for their time) and at the heat pump. NOTHING WRONG WITH EITHER. When they took the furnace apart to look at it, I was there and it is PRISTINE. I'm still stunned at this level of dishonesty. The owner's response makes it look like I don't know what I'm talking about. I emailed them the $14K quote they had provided. They then contacted me to "address my concerns" along with pictures showing condensation on pipes and water on the floor before it was cleaned up. I don't see how the disparities from the three inspections can be addressed.

UPDATE 14/09/26: June from Kirkstone contacted us directly to offer her sincere apologies and provided a very reasonable resolution to the issue. There was clearly a breakdown of communication between the technician and the Kirkstone office. In the future I would hope that the technician will call the office and ask if a $790 charge for 90 minutes of labor is justifiable. Given June's response to this matter I rescind my earlier comments. I do believe there is ethics at play and not targeted gouging. This was a fault of poor communication which should be easily rectified in the future. Well done June and we look forward to calling on your services again. 4 stars because this issue although resolved should have been avoided. Hopefully 5 starts on the next encounter. 13/09/26 Original post: They are without ethics...do not hire this company. They tried to charge my 96 year old mother in-law $790.00 for less than 90 minutes of vacuuming one furnace and two gas fireplaces. No parts were supplied. The technician came an hour late with a vacuum and a multi head screw driver and that was it. We're still thinking we should report them to the Better Business Bureau and call the North Shore News so they can alert others of their targeted gouging of North Shore seniors.

Terrible customer service — the receptionist was rude and dismissive. They tried to charge $169 for a service call, but the catch is that's $169 per appliance. When I pushed back on their deceptive pricing practices, she hung up on me. Be aware, and consider other, more reasonable and customer-friendly companies.

After reviewing our records, we have been unable to locate a phone call associated with the phone number or name provided. Our calls are recorded for quality assurance and training purposes, which allows us to review customer interactions when concerns are brought to our attention.

The only communication we have been able to locate is a text request and an email exchange asking whether Kirkstone had originally installed your furnace. After reviewing our records, we confirmed by email that we did not install the furnace.

We would also like to clarify that we do not charge $169 for service calls, either per appliance or otherwise. Based on the information available to us, it appears there may have been some confusion with another service provider.

We certainly understand how frustrating a negative customer-service experience can be, but we want to ensure that the feedback posted here accurately reflects an interaction with our company.
