A magical four days in Orkney with Paul. Excellent communication before the trip - gentle enquiry on fitness levels to advice on clothing and footwear for the itineraries.
Knowledgeable, informative on matters historical, contemporary and economic. Great sense of humour.
Our four days were split between the west of the mainland, Hoy, Rousay and East mainland and Churchill barriers/ linked islands.
Each day had time for a lunch - picnics on three days all made from the finest Orkney Produce - including Jane's wonderful home made jams, chutneys, biscuits and cakes and salads from Paul's polytunnel.
The fourth day included lunch at the spectacular Sheila Fleet Kirk gallery.
Loads of advice on what to do on our final unaccompanied day in Kirkwall - including St Magnus Catherdral, the Earls' and Bishops' palaces , the charming Orkney museum and the Highland park distillery.
Every morning began with a pick up after breakfast. Always on time - in Paul's very comfortable people carrier.
We really felt we had seen huge amounts of interesting and consequential history, jaw dropping scenery and wildlife and enjoyed fantastic hospitality from Paul and Jane welcoming us into their home, kitchen and garden for a special tasting of fattie cutties and Highland Park and Scapa whiskeys plus Deerness Dtistillery's gins and vodka.
It is a beautiful and fascinating place perfectly showcased by a very special guide and ambassador for the life style and opportunities of the Islands.
We cant thank Paul and Jane enough.

Stuart, thank you so much for this wonderful 5-star review and for choosing JP Orkney Tours for your four-day adventure.
It was an absolute pleasure guiding you across the islands, from the dramatic scenery of Hoy and Rousay to the rich history of the West Mainland and the Churchill Barriers. I'm thrilled you found the pre-trip communication helpful for the Orkney weather, and that you were comfortable traveling between sites in our electric tour vehicle.
Jane was absolutely delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the daily picnic lunches featuring Jane & Paul's Orkney Produce, along with the fresh salads from the polytunnel. Welcoming you both into our home in Birsay to share some local whisky, and freshly baked fattie cutties was a highlight for us as well.
I'm so glad our recommendations for your final day exploring Kirkwall, St Magnus Cathedral, and the Palaces hit the mark. You were fantastic guests, and Jane and I would love to welcome you back to Orkney anytime 😁
