IIS have just carried out underfloor, loft and room in roof insulation for us. We used them before in a previous house to help make it more energy efficient. When we moved we had no hesitation in using them again. The new house is 100 years old and had no insulation. The initial discussions about what was possible showed the team understood the property and were very clear about what could be done. The team turned out on time and cleared up after themselves. A couple of items of damage were resolved without question. The communication throughout has been excellent. The house feels so much warmer

Thanks Alison. Getting the call for the new house after doing your last one is about the best reference we could ask for. A 100-year-old house starting from no insulation usually has a few limits on what can go where, so we were straight with you about those before the underfloor, loft and room in roof went in.

Insulation Installers Scotland performed exactly as they are known for. Jake travelled a 6 hour round trip from Pontefract to Barrow-in-Furness. Conducted a free survey to confirm if my walls were suitable for CWI (they weren't); checked my loft insulation (200mm, could do with a top-up, but not worth them doing a job); we discussed interior wall insulation (would not be worth them staying 5 overnights to complete the job, but gave me an estimate so i know what it should cost locally). Proper good service.

Thanks Nick. Telling someone their walls aren't suited to cavity wall insulation, or that a 200mm loft can wait, is as much a part of a survey as quoting for the work. Glad the internal wall estimate gives you a fair yardstick when you talk to firms closer to home.

We have an old flat with a loft conversion that had very little insulation. Calum and the team were so helpful and willing to talk through our options with us. We agreed on insulating both the walls and the ceiling and we’re already noticing a difference in the temperature with the recent hot weather. The guys were great to have around while they were doing the work and were so tidy and communicative - it made the whole process so much easier. Overall we’re really pleased with the work and would definitely recommend them.

Thanks to you both. A converted loft in an older flat takes the sun straight through the roof in summer and loses heat the same way in winter, so insulating the walls and the ceiling together covers both, and a hot spell is as fair a first test as a cold snap. Glad the team kept you posted while the work went in, that is how it should be done.

The company were flexible with dates for installation, which was very helpful, as previous trades had not finished as expected. The lads who came to install the underfloor insulation for me, were friendly and engaging. They got on with the job, and kept their workspace clean and tidy and cleaned up after themselves. Overall pleasant experience and the prices were reasonable as well.

Thanks Helen. When other trades run over, the dates move whether anyone likes it or not, so we would rather work round that than hold you to a slot that no longer suits. Glad the lads were good company while they got the underfloor insulation in.

We were really happy with the work Calum and his team did, installing insulation in our cold, draughty kitchen in our Victorian end terrace in Shawlands. We had suffered with an icy cold kitchen every winter, and the new insulation has definitely made a difference the last two winters. We chose Insulation Installers Scotland, as they had been recommended on our neighbourhood (Waverley Park) WhatsApp group. Calum and his team turned up when they said they would, and they discussed our options and explained everything clearly. Over just a few days, they tidily installed insulation in the ceiling and under the floor of our kitchen, which had not previously been insulated. They were fast, proficient and professional, and we would recommend Insulation Installers to anyone thinking about getting insulation for their home.

Thanks Chloe. Kitchens in Victorian terraces are often the one room that never got insulated, so doing the ceiling and the floor together is what stops the cold coming at it from both sides. Most people judge it in the first week, two winters in is the honest test.

Can't praise callum from insulation installers scotland enough after a disastrous loft insulation contacted callum to see if he could help he out. He sent his amazing team to clear out loft and lay new insulation.he then helped me to apply for funding which I didn't think I was entitled to the guys on the day were very friendly and did a great job and tidied everthing up . I wish I had used this company the first time but very grateful for all there help and support highly recommed .

Thanks Gigi. Moisture is the right thing to worry about, because insulation fitted without working out where the condensation will go often causes the problem it was meant to solve. Getting that designed out first is most of the job, and the winter should feel very different for it.

Calum and his team was fantastic to deal with. After spending lots of time helping me access my insulation options on our detached sandstone period property, we had underfloor insulation installed. The process was quick and we received detail finished pictures of the work. The insulation did the tick, making the floorboards feel warmer underfoot. Thanks Chris. On a period sandstone property there is usually more than one sensible way to approach underfloor insulation, so it was worth taking the time to go through the options properly before settling on one. Warm floorboards underfoot is normally the first thing people notice.

Thanks David. Clearing the old stuff out first is what lets the new loft insulation sit at its full depth, and the boarding has to sit clear above it so the storage is not squashing it flat. That is the bit that should show up on the gas bills over the winter.
