We had a wonderful time at the Calmway Airbnb. Host:Michelle and her husband Afan are as nice as can be. We opted for the airport pickup which was incredibly convenient! We had one night with water issues and Michelle was so prompt and responsive, she even let one of us shower in her home. The water was restored by the next morning - you couldn't ask for a better Airbnb host.Accommodations: Comfortable, lovely, and that pool! We were there for a whole week and we were incredibly comfortable the entire time. The interior is spacious and has pretty much everything you need.Location:The location of Calmway is off the beaten path which means it's quiet without being secluded. We recommend doing the large grocery store stop because the corner store is limited.Walking:We did not rent a car and walked down to West end several times a day. It takes almost exactly 15 minutes to get there. We are two women traveling together and we had no issues other than the occasional cat calling.

Favorite island day! We had an amazing day with Do Roatan Day Tours! Afan was so friendly and made the whole day feel easy and relaxed. We got to see some beautiful parts of Roatán and really enjoyed being able to experience the island without having to worry about figuring everything out ourselves. Definitely a highlight of our trip, and I’d happily book with them again!

The home was as described and photographed. It was pretty secluded although the owner lives next door and you do share a driveway. They did close the gate at night for extra security, and as we left most days by 8am we had to open it. The pool is just as small as it appears in the photo maybe 12ft by 6ft, perfect for 2 to 6 people. The master bedroom has a very firm mattress - strictly a preference for a tempurpedic type mattresses. The water jug in the kitchen was a bonus as we drink a lot of water especially while in the sun and diving. We highly enjoyed our first trip to Roatan. We dove with Native Sons - super easy process. We ate at Pura Vida, Sandy Buns, BelMar, Vos Cafe, Silver Sides, Sundowners, Argentinian Grill, and Roatan Brewing Co. We have plenty more to see and do too make another trip warranted in the future.

Our stay at CalmAway Cottage was our best AirBnB experience ever. We loved the pool which was super refreshing. We like to cook and found that the kitchen had everything we needed. Simply put, we loved our stay!Michelle was an excellent and responsive host. I highly recommend staying at the cottage.

We had a great time on this tour. Chocolate tasting and shopping was fun. Our teen boys loved zip lining and the whole sloth experience not to mention the monkeys were awesome, they claimed all over us. Afan was great and ensured we had an awesome time and even gave us some homemade empanadas. He got us back to the cruise with plenty of time after stopping at the We Love Roatan sign for pictures. We highly recommend them!

This was the best adventure. The sloths were amazing to hold! The other animals, monkeys and exotic birds were so picture perfect and able to interact with us! Well worth the trip and small admission fee.

Our tour with the animals was a highlight of our cruise. It was wonderful to be able to hold the sloths and engage with the animals. The guides were amazing, knowledgeable, engaging, and very personable. The tour was recommended by my neighbor who had taken it the previous year and the tour did not disappoint. Definitely and strongly recommended to anyone visiting Roatan..

Couldnt recommend a better driver for our custom tour for the day! Afan was great to communicate with and was upfront about everything, times we should leave, meet and travel from each destination. Friendly service my family never felt that awkward silence set in, my teen even napped on way back to the ship. When we return to Roatan will be contacting Afan’s company again!’

If you're visiting Roatán and considering a private tour, stop looking and book with Affan—you will not regret it! From the moment we stepped off our cruise ship, Affan exceeded every expectation. He was waiting exactly where he said he would be, and even though the port area was a bit chaotic with so many tour operators trying to recruit passengers, he spotted us immediately, guided us through the crowd, and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. His spacious, air-conditioned SUV was a welcome relief in the Honduran heat, and we were able to enjoy the day in comfort. Throughout the tour, he took us to wonderful places that showcased the very best of Roatán. We visited talented local woodworkers, sampled delicious island chocolates, and spent time at the sloth and monkey sanctuary—an unforgettable experience that was one of the highlights of our cruise. What truly set Affan apart, though, was his kindness and willingness to go above and beyond. Our family collects local currency from the places we visit to give to children back home, and when we mentioned it, he made an unscheduled stop just to help us. He even went inside, exchanged money from his own pocket, and made sure we had local Honduran currency to take home. It may seem like a small gesture, but it meant the world to us and is something we will never forget. One of the main reasons we chose Affan in the first place was because he and his wife previously worked for the cruise lines. That experience gave us tremendous confidence that they understood cruise schedules and the importance of getting passengers back to the ship on time. Had it not been for that background, I probably would have been hesitant to book an independent tour. Looking back, I am so thankful we did. Our experience was far better than what many people from our ship described from the cruise-sponsored excursions—and it cost significantly less. Thank you, Affan, for taking such wonderful care of our group and for making our day in Roatán so memorable. We've already recommended you to friends who are cruising later this year, and if we're ever fortunate enough to return to your beautiful island, you'll be the very first person we contact for another adventure. May God richly bless you, your wife, your sweet little boy, and your business. We cannot recommend you highly enough!

He even went out of his way to make a special stop at a cigar shop for us, which we really appreciated. The tour was well organized, relaxed, and a great way to see the island.
