I cannot recommend this walk enough! It was an incredible experience being guided by Pete along the Hobart Rivulet. Pete was so warm and welcoming to all of us, and is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to platypus. Thank you so much for showing us your world Pete, I hope to see you again in the future!
Pete was very knowledgeable, kind and informative. He knew where to look and we were so lucky to see several creatures on our afternoon with him! Loved it!

This was one of the best experiences, one that I have been recommending to anyone who wants to see a platypus in the wild. Pete's knowledge, experience and dedication are incredible and he is also incredibly kind. We saw three wild platypodes while there and will definitely be back when we are next back in Hobart. This guided Platypus walk is an exceptional opportunity to see Platypus in their own environment. Pete Walsh shares interesting information about Platypus life whilst ensuring every participant had the chance to see them and have their questions answered. This guided walk was a highlight for us! We had a wonderful time on the guided walk and were very lucky as we saw 4 different Platypuses. Pete was able to show us the best spots to find them along with answering any questions we had regarding them - he is truly passionate about these creatures and understands their behaviour well! These walks help contribute towards conservation attempts so we highly recommend joining - it's an unforgettable and fun experience!
Pete was an incredible guide with not only a great knowledge of the amazing platypus, but also a deep connection with them. We were blown away to be able to see a platypus in the wild within the first minute and this continued throughout the tour. After watching the abc iview documentary, we were even more touched by Pete’s dedication. Thoroughly recommend this tour

Saw a platypus as soon as the tour began! It was a great experience and definitely recommend. Pete was very knowledgeable and full of interesting stories and facts. Great to know that so much is being done to help the platypus and their homes
Pete was an amazing guide, so knowledgeable and you could see how passionate he is about these elusive little mammals. We were so blessed in being able to watch 3 platypus during our tour in their habitat. Definitely recommend if you love these little guys

I joined the Secret World of Hobart Rivulet Platypus walk hosted by Pete, and it exceeded my expectations. Not only did we spot one platypus, but two! The highlight was watching one carefully make its way over the rocks and upstream along the rivulet.
Pete was knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly dedicated to the welfare of these beautiful and often elusive animals. After many unsuccessful attempts to find a platypus in the wild, I had started to think they were a bit like unicorns—everyone talks about them, but no one actually sees them! Pete proved me wrong and helped make a long-held bucket list dream come true.
I highly recommend this walk to anyone interested in wildlife and nature. Even better, every ticket directly supports platypus conservation, rescue, rehabilitation, research, and advocacy, helping protect these remarkable animals and their habitats for the future.

What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Hobart. We spotted not one, but two whimsical platypus and it was such a treat to witness them in their natural habitat. Pete was so generous with his knowledge and it is clear just how passionate he is about these beautiful creatures. As and added bonus we saw Cascade Brewery all dressed up for Dark Mofo. Fantastic experience! We did the tour for my birthday and was super special. Highly recommend. The riverlet itself is beautiful but to be able to watch platypus just doing their thing was wonderful and haven't stopped thinking about it. Pete was informative and funny and just an all round nice guy. Hobart (Tasmania? Australia?) is very lucky to have him. Can't recommend highly enough. Thanks Pete. Keep up the amazing work.

It was a great experience walking along the rivulet, spotting platypus. Pete knows so much about the rivulet platypus and is an integral part of their survival.
