Ben Kemp and the team at Frontier Log Homes are among the best log home builders and general contractors I’ve ever worked with. If you’re looking for a custom log home, mountain home, luxury log home, or a high-quality timber home built to last for generations, Frontier Log Homes delivers. Their craftsmanship, communication, and attention to detail stand out from the first design meeting through construction. They don’t build cookie-cutter houses. They create custom homes that fit your land, your lifestyle, and your vision. Whether you’re planning a mountain retreat, full-time residence, vacation home, or legacy family cabin, they know how to make the process smooth. If you need a trusted general contractor for a custom home, log home construction, log home restoration, log home addition, or a complete mountain home builder, I highly recommend Ben Kemp and Frontier Log Homes. Their experience, integrity, and commitment to quality are exactly what you want in a builder. Five stars without hesitation!

Ben and his team are top notch professionals. They eased our concerns, educated us, and guided us through the process of building and finishing our dream log cabin near Ridgway. Couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. Can’t recommend them enough. FYI- the owner (Ben) was always on the job site monitoring progress and even getting his hands dirty at times to get the job done. You can see he truly cares about his projects. You just don’t see that anymore!?

Before we chose frontier we looked at aproxamently 8 other companies. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and very helpful. They thoroughly explained each step. I would recommend them to anyone considering a log home. Once the home was erected on our site they continued to be very helpful with our questions. I give them an A+.

Frontier Log Homes completed our retirement home several months ago. After reading numerous warnings about the travails of working with a contractor to build your own home, we completed what we perceived to be adequate due diligence and began to work with the folks at Frontier Log Homes. We built the home from afar, as we were still living almost 800 miles away and tasked the folks at Frontier with completing our turnkey construction. They were with us every step of the way. Communication was always excellent, they crafted our house plans to meet our desires and our budget, and all the suggestions they made were perfect. We stayed within our financial means and they finished ahead of schedule! The final punch list at the end of construction was less than a page long and they quickly addressed all our concerns, to our total satisfaction. If you are anywhere remotely near Montrose, CO have these folks build your home, you won't be sorry!

These guys are true professionals, with great attention to detail and high quality. They were friendly and responsive to change requests, kept us in the loop and made a challenging work site look easy. I would work with them again in a heartbeat. Project was a one thousand square foot dovetail hand-hewn cabin. It was completed in 2016.

Working with Frontier was a great pleasure. They were professional at all times and did exactly what they said they would do and did it on time. Our log home is very remote and they had no problems accessing the site and building the home.

Wes Browning was the Frontier Log Homes Superintendent on the construction of our log home in Aspen Colorado. Completion in May 2000 was ahead of schedule and under budget. The home was featured in Log Home Living, January 2004 issue, on the cover and with a full article and photos. The Home has aged beautifully and one of Aspen's most prominent custom home builders was in the house at a small gathering on January 03, 2017 and said that he had never seen such high quality fit and finish in a log home before. We have at least one person knock on the door each year or so and beg us to sell them the house. It is not for sale. I cannot recommend Frontier and Wes highly enough. The entire Frontier organization has become like Family to us over the years. Great people and really knowledgeable.
