I tried the Duck Burger and the Beef Smash Burger, and both were fantastic. If you’re feeling adventurous, go for the Duck Burger. If you’re on a mission to find the best smash burger, definitely choose the Beef Smash Burger!
Atmosphere: ★★★★☆
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a beautiful open kitchen layout. I didn’t eat on the patio, but it looked well maintained.
Big thanks to Reyna for taking such great care of me during my lunch visit. I’ll definitely be back!

Food was great and the atmosphere was so cool! I recommend sitting at the Chefs Bar. I had the dumplings and half a cesar 10/10! Also had some of the duck…amazing!

The food was absolutely delicious and priced accordingly. Chef Josh was a delight to chat with at the chef‘s table. He absolutely cooked the food to perfection along with the other kitchen staff. The dishes were well thought out and beautifully presented. I did not care for the dessert. It was a thick pound cake with a white chocolate ganache. The macerated strawberries were not fresh and the dish lacked excitement. I didn’t catch the name of the gentlemen serving us, but I would say there is definitely room for improvement with the service. The food runner and other servers helping were much more personable and helpful. Maybe our server was just having a bad night but he definitely could have made our evening more enjoyable if he was more attentive and friendly. I would have rated this restaurant with five stars if the service was better.
So wonderful. Thank you so much to the whole team at Black Duck for the incredible food experience. Staff were truly amazing, caring and helpful. Food was incredible, beautifully presented. Drinks were stunning and delicious. Our waiter was always attentive, checking on us without being invading. Water was always filled. Thank you. We had the duck, so amazing- pork chop and salmon. Just incredible. It was our birthday celebration, we were offered celebratory champagne. Very kind gesture. Dined on Sunday night and we were surprised that a few Twin Cities top chefs including chef Yia vang stopped by and were chatting with chef Jason over the table next to us. Can't remember the other chefs but they were all so kind to give credits to Black Duck chef- All humble and kind people. Best wishes to Black Duck, a real gem. Chef kindly took a photo with us. Wishing him & his team the best of success. We will go again and again to support this wonderful place.
Fantastic food and cocktails. Awesome restaurant layout. Cant wait to get back again. Oysters, sweet potato pancakes, trout croquets, duck 2 ways, all phenomenal
This restaurant had some of the most unique and delicious food I've ever tried. Each different item had such a robust flavor profile, if you have the chance, you need to go here! And try EVERYTHING! Also if you're Gluten Free they will have a lot of options for you and are celiac safe.
Super fun place with well made and modernized Polish-ish food. Service was great, friendly, and personable. Get the chips with the sous vide egg on them!
Dinner was fabulous! The vegan Silesian dumplings were amazing. If it were acceptable, I would have licked the plate. The beet salad, grilled oysters, and Negroni were all great too! All had a Polish flair to them.
First time dining here. We loved the ambiance and the cocktails were quite amazing EXCEPT for the old fashioned riff with the fat washed. It literally tasted like you were drinking grease. Not good at all. I loved the tartare. The pierogies were good. Now the disappointment that gives this a 2 star is the entrees. We ordered the duck dish which is in the name and yet it was borderline too salty and the rhubarb wasn’t incorporated properly in the dish, it was just left off to the side weirdly. The Swiss chard was the only good thing really in that dish. Then we had the Arctic char and it was ok. The greens had fiber that was inedible so had to keep spitting that out and the sauce on top was grainy and gloopy and just didn’t look appealing. The dessert was also super weird and didn’t make sense. Cheesecake was eh and the ice cream, nuts and sauce didn’t go. It was not cohesive at all. We would ONLY come back for cocktails and maybe apps if we were in the area. The service was amazing and loved sitting at the bar.
Black Duck is our neighborhood favorite! This time we sat on the patio with friends from out of town. We had pierogis, beef tartare, smoked trout krokiety, half chicken, flat iron steak, smash burger, and fried chicken sandwich…ALL FANTASTIC! Julissa was our server, and she was fun and super helpful, answering all of our questions in detail! Love Black Duck!
We had 7pm reservations on a Thursday night. It was fairly crowded in the outdoor patio. More seats were available inside. While we were eating the crowd began to thin out.
The service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the entire menu, including drinks.
I had the double cut pork chops with reminded me of eating in Japan as it was served with the bone but cut off of it and into pieces (chopstick culture 🙂).
We shared these pork Belly Paczek and the silesian dumplings. Both were wonderful.
I would be a regular if I lived up here.
