We called the day of and they told us that they don't have reservations. But when we got there, they said they didn't have a table, because it was October fest, and half of the restaurant was dedicated to that the front half, but they failed to tell us that on the phone and the food was subpar at best. I was very disappointed. It used to be great and I came from far away to eat there. The beef goulash, which is usually excellent and outstanding, was warm and not enough meat, and my yagus, knitsel was dry and the potatoes underneath were undercooked I won't be back R. I. P. The interior is wonderful, very authentic. Food could be better. Also weird "dress code" rules 🥴

This is the best German Restaurant in Queens, possibly the city. The flavors are authentic and portions are generous. The service has neighborhood charm and the decor make you feel like you've stepped into a mountain brauhaus. Make reservations as seating is limited and the nicer table seem to go to those who call ahead.
Went here for my mother's birthday tonight and the food was excellent the atmosphere was great as well as the staff and service. Highly recommend.
Zum Stammtisch is one of the best German restaurants I’ve come across in the United States. It’s not 100% traditional in every detail, and you can tell that some dishes have been Americanized a bit, but honestly, that’s perfectly fine.
What really stands out is how much of the food, atmosphere, and overall experience still feels genuinely German. The menu has many of the classic dishes you’d expect, and the quality and preparation make it feel much closer to Germany than most German restaurants I’ve visited in the U.S.
I’ve tried quite a few German restaurants around the country, and so far, Zum Stammtisch is probably the most authentic German restaurant I’ve found in the U.S. If you’re looking for a taste of Germany in Queens, this is definitely a place I’d recommend.
