I booked a private tour of the WWI sites in and around Verdun for 4 persons. It was beyond perfect. Raphael is not only in total control of logistics, but he is a delight to listen to. His knowledge of historical details and his clear and careful explanations made the tour really unforgettable. I totally recommend him.

Raphael was Absolutely fantastic! He was very kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Despite the fact that my wife and I were his only customers, he really went out of his way to make our day fabulous! We also visited the champagne factory of the Morlet family and had a drink with Mr. Morlet himself. Highly recommended!

Thank you Raphael! We had a most enjoyable day beginning with a tour through Norte-Dame Cathedrale. We learned so much of the history of the Cathedrale as well as Reims itself. Next we visited Vranken Pommery Domain, where we toured the caves and learned about the art of champagne making. Of course, after that came the delicious champagne tasting! We then moved on to the village of Hautvillers and the history of Dom Perignon, some fun sabering a champagne bottle, then on to lunch in Epernay. The day concluded with a visit to a small family owned champagne house for a tour and more delicious tasting and a demonstration of expelling the yeast from the champagne bottle ‘the old fashioned way’ by the owner. All in all we had a fun, educational and most enjoyable day and I would highly recommend Raphael and his Uncork Champagne tours when visiting the region.

Wonderful tour and a wonderful guide. Wow, what an experience. Raphael was our small group tour guide. There was 4 of us total and it was special. We did the tour in English. We started our tour at the Cathedral Notre Dame of Reims. A stunning 1600 year old cathedral. Raphael provided an excellent historical tour inside and out. We then began our journey through Reims with incredible history en route to our destinations in Eperney. The history, stories, vineyards, the chalk caves, countryside views and champagne houses we visited were exceptional. On our 90 minute lunch break we stopped in a local brasserie for fresh baguette and we had enough time to walk some of the Boulevard of Champagne’s to squeeze in a couple of extra tastings on our own. An exceptional trip with an exceptional guide. Thank you Raphael for a great day out and memories we will cherish forever.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Verdun. Tour was excellent and very detailed about the Battle for Verdun. We visited memorials, trenches, forts and citadel. Most comprehensive. Our guide Raphael was very knowledgeable and most personable. I recommend tour to anyone interested in WW1.
