Mark has given us additional one on one time with our two headstrong dachshund puppies to demonstrate to us the strategies on having them comfortably walking on a lead. We now have a better idea on the importance of space around the dogs, how to cope with distractions, and the competitive nature of two brothers of the same litter. Mark’s insight into dog behaviour is impressive and we are looking to provide him with feedback on how well we are progressing with our training. Thanks Mark.

We engaged Mark and Linda from Sydney Dog Trainer to help our newly adopted Havanese adjust to her new life. She was very stressed on a leash, wouldn’t leave the house and was very scared of strangers.
After one session, our Havanese was able to leave the house and started going on walks. Thereafter, we’ve been seeing her go from strength to strength. She now loves going on walks and gets so excited when we bring out the leash.

Mark is exceptional. We sought help with our 1 year old Jack Russel for numerous behavioural issues and within 2 hours of being guided how to train her we could see a big improvement. Mark has the skills to train you as a pet owner in order to train your dog. He has given us the skills to support our dog and the results are incredible. Mark has also provided ongoing support, he was happy to answer any follow up questions. All of our issues have resolved and we couldn’t be happier. We would highly recommend Mark.

Within about three minutes, Mark had our 22kg, 9-month-old Staffy wrecking ball actually listening to commands, something we were starting to think might require an exorcism!
The difference a few simple techniques made was incredible. The slightly painful discovery was that Sirus wasn’t the only one being trained.
Apparently, the humans needed work too.
Mark explained everything clearly and showed us how much consistency, timing and communication matter. Now it’s up to us to keep it going and stop Sirus reclaiming his role as Managing Director of Chaos.
Thanks again Mark. We all learned a huge amount and could see the improvement almost immediately.

I cannot recommend The Sydney Dog Trainer highly enough.
I contacted them because my 16-month-old German Shepherd, Rufus, had developed some challenging behaviours around strangers, visitors to the house and barking when left alone. After trying different approaches without the progress I was hoping for, I booked an in-home session.
Within just two hours, I genuinely felt like I had a completely different dog. More importantly, I realised that the biggest change needed to come from me. The trainer didn’t just train Rufus—they taught me how to communicate with him properly, understand why he behaves the way he does, and how to confidently handle different situations.

Our 11-month-old Samoyed suddenly developed severe separation anxiety right after we moved from an apartment to a house. Every time we attempted to leave, he would bark nonstop, and we started receiving complaints from our neighbour. It was the first time he had ever behaved like this, and the situation became incredibly stressful.
We tried everything we could think of. We used a citronella collar, took him to the vet, rearranged our work schedules so one of us could stay home, and nothing was working.

Reached out to Linda to help with our new puppy and she explained everything perfectly and sent notes to help us set up for success. Her notes and training has helped us immensely and we’re so grateful. Already our puppy is able to sit, responds to her name, stays and responds to recalls.
