Huge thanks to Mark from The Sydney Dog Trainer for spending two hours with us and Sirus. Within about three minutes, Mark had our 22kg, 9-month-old Staffy wrecking ball actually listening to commands, something we were starting to think might require an exorcism! The difference a few simple techniques made was incredible. The slightly painful discovery was that Sirus wasn’t the only one being trained. Apparently, the humans needed work too. Mark explained everything clearly and showed us how much consistency, timing and communication matter. Now it’s up to us to keep it going and stop Sirus reclaiming his role as Managing Director of Chaos. Thanks again Mark. We all learned a huge amount and could see the improvement almost immediately. One question remains: Has Sirus been capable of listening all along and simply chosen not to? 😂🐕

Mark from The Sydney Dog Trainer spent a considerable time with us giving us strategies to train our two 7 month old dachshund puppies. They are certainly a handful but their behaviour inside our house and to people we invite in has improved markedly and are now quite relaxed and sociable. On the street and meeting other dogs they are marginally better but their behaviour is still problematic. Mark has given us additional strategies to work on and wants to be updated on their progress. His commitment to us getting a good outcome from his training is unquestionable.

Could not recommend Mark enough. Worth every dollar! I wish I had done this sooner. I was shocked to see such positive results with my 2 very reactive Chihuahuas almost immediately! We had such a great experience with Mark. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and gave us practical advice that we could immediately put into practice. Our pup is super excited, affectionate and full of energy, so we wanted help with things like jumping, pulling on the lead and improving her recall. I cannot recommend The Sydney Dog Trainer highly enough. I contacted them because my 16-month-old German Shepherd, Rufus, had developed some challenging behaviours around strangers, visitors to the house and barking when left alone. After trying different approaches without the progress I was hoping for, I booked an in-home session. Within just two hours, I genuinely felt like I had a completely different dog. More importantly, I realised that the biggest change needed to come from me. The trainer didn’t just train Rufus—they taught me how to communicate with him properly, understand why he behaves the way he does, and how to confidently handle different situations. The amount of knowledge I gained in those two hours was incredible. Everything was explained in a way that was easy to understand and immediately put into practice. By the end of the session, Rufus was calmer, more focused and responding in ways I honestly didn’t think were possible so quickly. If you’re struggling with your dog or simply want to become a better owner, do yourself a favour and book a session. It has been one of the best investments I’ve ever made, and I now feel confident that Rufus and I have the tools for a happy, well-balanced future together. Dog Behaviour issue SOLVED! - Separation Anxiety We cannot recommend The Sydney Dog Trainers enough! Our 11-month-old Samoyed suddenly developed severe separation anxiety right after we moved from an apartment to a house. Every time we attempted to leave, he would bark nonstop, and we started receiving complaints from our neighbour. It was the first time he had ever behaved like this, and the situation became incredibly stressful. We tried everything we could think of. We used a citronella collar, took him to the vet, rearranged our work schedules so one of us could stay home, and nothing was working. Everything changed when we contacted The Sydney Dog Trainers. From our very first phone call, Linda was incredibly compassionate and understanding about what we were going through. She took the time to explain how Mark, an experienced behaviourist and trainer, could help us, and she immediately gave us hope. The results were beyond anything we could have imagined. Mark worked a miracle! Our Samoyed stopped barking during the training session itself. He carefully showed us exactly how to leave the house, and we practised the routine over and over with short and longer absences until our dog was completely comfortable. We continued practising over the next two days exactly as Mark instructed, and we were amazed by the results. We can now leave the house without any barking at all. It’s honestly incredible. The previous two weeks had been so stressful, and now we finally have our normal lives back. We feel such a huge sense of relief. We truly don’t have enough words to thank Linda and Mark. Reached out to Linda to help with our new puppy and she explained everything perfectly and sent notes to help us set up for success. Her notes and training has helped us immensely and we’re so grateful. Already our puppy is able to sit, responds to her name, stays and responds to recalls. Linda is an absolute treasure - she has a beautiful way with puppies and people alike. She has a very loving, fun and respect-based approach to training. Six months after our session with Linda, my children of all ages continue to put her techniques into practice on a daily basis to teach our puppy new things and he's become a beautiful member of the family.
