Your feedback means a lot to us — thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re proud to have helped and hope you love your new vehicle.
Got a car last October, staff was friendly and worked hard to get the deal done, but the vehicle is now having issues that were supposedly repaired in shop before sale of vehicle. Have to replace both rear rotors, brake calipers, and pads because one of the calipers was missing part of it and dirt got clogged up in there, super heating my rotor. Had to replace the front rotors and pads months ago. Tires were completely worn down. The splash guard under the car was missing a bunch of clips, part of it almost fell off. The trunk was missing the cover, so can't really put anything back there because uneven surface with the spare tire/car jack just hanging out in the open.

Don't be like me and buy a vehicle without checking everything over and take pictures of everything and while you're at it buy a code reader and plug it in right off the hop before you even drive it off the lot basically treat it like a private sale because that's what it is except you're paying the marked up dealership price yet they don't properly fix the vehicles that get traded in they just slap a for sale sign on it and clean the inside of the cab the box of my truck still has old junk in it from the previous owner

I imagine this will get buried, but here's to hoping. This'll be a long read, but if you won't read this, just please at least reconsider buying from here.
TL;DR, when it comes to my first and only experience at Prairie West Auto, just know that you'd have better luck/experiences from buying a random vehicle off Kijiji or Facebook. They will post and sell you a vehicle that is not safe/ready for the road, and although they will also fix it, it has taken me almost a month now of paying for a vehicle I can't drive and haven't yet as of posting.
I'll give the credit where it's due first.
They will make sure you find a vehicle you like within your price range/capability.
The people there also seem to be friendly, which is nice as well.
They'll also offer to deliver said vehicle if you live out of town.
That's essentially where the good parts end. Any other nice parts, like fixing your vehicle if something goes wrong, I consider strictly contractual and not a kindness since they offer a 3 month warranty.
Now for the bad, which is still ongoing as of posting. I'll just recount all that happened.
I purchased a 2018 Chev Silverado for around 20K (my price range) on March 14th. At first, the fella who sold it to me let me know that they just had to do a tire change (tires were worn down) for me along with a general final check before it can be delivered to me sometime within the next week. Sounds great! I'm stoked and happy that they were so helpful.
March 20th comes, and upon asking them about any ETA I get a phone call saying that they found a few problems that they will fix for me, but will also take awhile to get done. Equated to around 5k of work that the warranty covers. Oh good! Happy to hear that was caught before any real issue came up while I'm on the road.
Fast forward with scheduling and further issues with the truck, it's decided that they'll bring out the truck for March 31st. They keep reiterating that I'll be happy with this truck I've never truly driven yet.
On March 31st, delivery is canceled due to road conditions. I figure that if it's a liability issue, I can stop by to pick it up the next day! When I stop by the next day, they tell me I cannot bring it home since there was some issue with the tow package that needs to be completely redone. They only told me it was road conditions. Didn't lie since roads were slightly snowed on, but omitted the truth. They say I can technically take it home, but it cannot use a rear signal light. Not the biggest deal, but it is technically illegal to drive a vehicle with non functioning signal lights. Since I drive a lot and want a fully functioning vehicle from a dealership, I leave without the vehicle.
April 7th comes. They tell me they'll be bringing the vehicle down around 4:30 PM, even though that day snowed a metric ton compared to when they canceled for "road conditions" before. That's fine, I just want to drive the vehicle I've been paying them for. 7PM comes and no update. Understandable if they can't come down since that was a bad day, but they only updated when I asked. Vehicle is here, but at their other location. I go to pick it up, and when I get home I realize the signal light still isn't working. I take it to a local mechanic just to check to see if it's as simple as a light bulb or something, he can't figure it out.
I take it over today, April 9th, and after leaving it there for the day, apparently the whole tow package they installed was faulty, and despite looking to get a refund, swap it for a similar vehicle instead or even just get a rental, I am left with no vehicle as of yet. Apparently needs everything that was done on March 20th all over again.
If anyone made it down all this way, don't buy from them. Every vehicle I've purchased off Kijiji or FB has had less stress. Buy somewhere else. I figured things would be more straightforward through a dealership. It may be true, but not from this one from my experience. There is no world where I'll reccommend someone go through this. Thanks for reading this far along, if applicable haha.
I had KC help me with looking for a better vehicle than what I have, super friendly and willing to help with any information she can! I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new to you vehicle to get in touch with her
