MHM Remodeling Reviews

The result speak for themselves and we love the results. Our fully custom bathrooms are exactly what we had in mind for our project. The fact that we got fully custom for $18,000.00 less than getting a somewhat custom all plastic remodel makes it even better.

Mike, Cindy and the team delivered outstanding quality, feedback throughout the project - and have a talented crew. I could count on Mike to call every morning, to start the day and manage the project. He and Cindy were there every day- inspecting for quality - and offering valuable suggestions. Hit the budget on the nose, and delivered a beautiful result. They beat my timeline expectations as well. They were precise, organized and client focused. I would absolutely use them for future projects - and I'm a detail-oriented customer. Well done. Excellent.

Mike and Cindy with MHM Remodeling helped us out at our home in North Austin this weekend, and we’re really thankful. We couldn't get our bathtub/shower water to shut off, and with it being Easter weekend, we weren’t sure we’d be able to get anyone out. They got back to us quickly, showed up when they said they would, and took care of everything without making it a big ordeal. They explained what was going on, fixed it the right way, and made sure everything was good before they left. You can tell they take their work seriously and don’t cut corners, which is hard to find these days. We really appreciate them coming out over a holiday weekend and would definitely recommend MHM Remodeling.

I had the best experience with MHM Remodeling. I talked to them about the remodeling I needed to do for my 1961 home and they talked me through all the possibilities. They are extremely knowledgeable and very affordable. I greatly appreciated their suggestions because sometimes you have an idea in mind but no understanding of how to execute it. They helped me rebuild a failing staircase to my rooftop patio, replaced the railing and flooring to the rooftop patio to bring it up to code, built a fantastic concrete retaining wall with a limestone top, an 8’ privacy fence around my whole property (1/3 of an acre), a beautiful built in entertainment center in my living room and replaced my main toilet because it was old and the seals were eroded. I couldn’t ask for better service and highly recommend for all your remodel needs.

Mike handled a small bathroom project for us in Jonestown and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The work was done correctly, the area was kept clean, and the job was finished when he said it would be. Even though it wasn’t a large project, he gave it the same level of attention and care. I wouldn’t hesitate to call MHM Remodeling again.

Mike and his crew absolutely did an A+ job. I had my kitchen backsplash replaced by an inexperienced contractor. It was awful. I called Mike at MHM Remodeling to tear it down and redo it. I love my new backsplash. The work is perfect. I love my kitchen now. MHM actually gave me a brand new kitchen! Thanks Mike! I look forward to your working on my next project.

Mike and his wife Cynthia (Cindy) are the best husband wife duo we've ever met. In remodeling they are the absolute most talented in the United States that we're aware of within their trade. Trustworthy. They keep to the written estimates. Workmanship is top notch, the best we've ever seen. Over the last ten years this is the second remodel, two different residences, that we've hired them for. Not cheap, However we've recouped every dollar invested in them. They also have referred us to other top notch contractors that do other work. -- dcc

MHM Remodeling Review We began our remodeling master bathroom project in 2025 by researching design/build remodeling companies. The first one was double the price I thought it should be. The second one only wanted to use prefabricated cabinets (which wouldn’t work for what I wanted to accomplish), and the third was MHM Remodeling, which is the one we chose. We felt Mike Stathos with MHM Remodeling had the knowledge and experience to complete the remodel on time and within budget. He was involved in the project nearly every day, and his sub-contractors showed up when it was time for their part of the project. The project involved removing the following: corner tub, walk-in shower, tile, two vanities, ceiling fan, tile, wall paper, toilet, vanity lights, and mirrors. Since we didn’t use the corner tub, the additional space was used to lengthen the vanities, and increase the size of the shower. While the bathroom size is only 10’ x 12’, there was extensive work to be done. The old tub drain and water lines had to be capped, and the larger shower design required the drain to be moved. Mike moved the recessed light over the shower for better alignment, while adding four additional recessed lights to the ceiling. He suggested that we install a recessed light with a night light built into the outer ring. The night light brightness can also be controlled with a dimmer switch, which is nice if a trip to the bathroom at night is required. We chose Benjamin Moore Cashmere Gray for the walls, which is a soft, light green. Mike’s sub-contractors were top notch. Paul, the cabinet maker, built exactly what we wanted and they look fabulous. We had him paint the cabinets with Sherwin Williams Iron Ore, which is a dark charcoal, nearly black shade. Austin Granite provided the Bianco Carrera marble for the countertops, shower niche, pony wall, shower step, and window sill. The faucets, drawer pulls, shower fixtures, vanity lights are brushed nickel. We chose the Kohler Santa Rosa toilet for the water closet. For the floor and shower wall tile, we wanted thin grout lights. Mike educated me on this by saying it would require rectified tiles, since they have the perfect 90 degree edge required for thin grout lines. We decided on the Visconde 12”x24” matt rectified tile for the floor, and the Visconde polished rectified tile for the shower walls, by the Emser Tile Company. These tiles provided a soft dark veining that blended nicely with the charcoal colored cabinets and Carrera marble countertops. The only item remaining are the window shutters that should be installed by another vendor in the next two weeks. Mike estimated a five week project schedule, but finished in four. They protected the floors from the front door to the bathroom, and covered everything in the master bedroom to protect it from dust. At the end of the project, he provided a list of receipts for every item purchased and used. He was very meticulous and detail oriented in his work, as well as the work of his sub-contractors. The bathroom turned out fabulous and we would recommend MHM Remodeling for your remodeling project. Bruce and Virginia

I've owned my current home for 20 years and over that time, I've used MHM for several projects, including two bathroom remodels, kitchen update and even opening up two small adjacent bedrooms to create one large one. I have never had any issues with the quality of their work and have never had to call Mike back because something wasn't done up to par. My home is just as beautiful now, years later, as it was when they finished the jobs. I recently needed some work done on the outside of my home and Mike recommended an excellent company to come out and do the required repairs and painting as he was quite busy with other projects at the time that I wanted mine done. This company definitely worked up to Mike's standards and I was thrilled with the outcome. I know that I will continue to use MHM for ALL of my home needs because they do it all and I don't have to worry if it's going to last over time. The quality that Mike demands of himself and his contractors is above reproach and I highly recommend Mike and MHM Remodeling for all of your home improvement projects.

Can I add a 6th star?! Mike and Cindy are amazing to work with, they will give you an honest opinion and invaluable feedback based on a wealth of experience and skill. MHM demo’d out and rebuilt an oversized custom shaped cave shower that a previous contractor had done a terrible job on and caused water damage to some of the subfloor. From the scoping of the project to the execution Mike was transparent and in constant communication with us. His subs were meticulous and professional and took pride in their work, our house is from 1949 and been remodeled several times, they artfully worked to adapt parts of the job to make it look right all along the way. Mike was not the cheapest bid nor was he most expensive but I can tell you I have no doubt we got the best value, quality and satisfaction of anyone we called. We only had one “unknown” with the subfloor/joists and Mike was incredibly fair and gave several options for the repairs, I gladly took his advice and was amazed at was his crew was able to do to get things shored up. My only regret is that MHM didn’t do the original remodel. I cannot recommend them highly enough, we are so happy with the end product and I’ve never felt more confident in the process and quality.

MHM remodeling did an outstanding job on my new home! The kitchen vent is an outstanding addition, and it has performed flawlessly thus far! The gas stove top, and oven have both also performed superbly, and have already helped in making some awesome meals since my move at the start of 2024. The paint work they did on the walls, ceiling, and staircase passageway is perfect! I live the color, and not a spot apperently on any of the white trim on the windows, or anywhere on the ceiling! An outstanding group of skilled workers, very communicative, and always understanding, even when my apparent naivety of construction work came up…which was several times. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking to renovate a space, or to help finalize a new move in. Consider me a thoroughly impressed customer!
