Not recommended.
The latest promotion is an absolute joke. If you already possess the highest ranking players club card that you can get, you already get everything that's offered as a "Promotion" included in your player level. Thus their latest promotion offers zero value. These are the type of things that make locals not want to be 'members' of this casino. To put it in simple terms if you get it for free, it's not a promotion, it is a slap in the face.
In my experience, aside from Turtle Creek this casino has the next worst odds of any Michigan casino I've visited. With my estimated gambling data, comparing what I spend versus what I receive in return. For every $1,000 spent at this casino, I receive approximately $196 in total value. This includes slot winnings, free play, and player comps (which do not exist unless you beg for them).
Simply put, my average value returned is about $196 for every $1,000 spent (19.6%), making it the next lowest ranked casino in my personal Michigan casino comparisons.
I would not recommend Turtle Creek or Leelanau Sands as based on my personal experience, they provide the poorest combination of gaming value and player compensation of the casinos I have gamed at.
If you're traveling, I would not make this a destination casino.
If you enjoy Players Club perks, this casino is not for you. While the staff is friendly and the facility is clean and well maintained, the player incentives are virtually nonexistent. Within 90 minutes, you can find much better player rewards programs at Odawa or Little River. The promotions at Leelanau Sands are also significantly weaker than those offered by Bay Mills or Little River.
Based on my personal and advisors' analysis of gambling value, comps, and promotions, here is how I rank the Michigan casinos I frequent (1 = best):
1. Little River
2. Kewadin
3. Odawa
4. Soaring Eagle
5. Bay Mills
6. Any GTB owned casino: Leelanau Sands / Turtle Creek /Crystal shores
Set a record at this casino, not a good one, I spun a machine 1738 times before getting a bonus...
Another interesting coincidence: Ever since I started ranking Michigan casinos based on their comp and return rates, my own comps and returns from Turtle Creek and Leelanau Sands casinos have noticeably dropped. While it could just be a fluke, the timing feels deliberate. It appears they aren't receptive to objective, fact based criticism, which I even shared with them personally before publishing, and may be acting in retribution.

I must say, I had a lovely stay at Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge.
I stayed here with a band because we had to perform at a wedding. As a musician, you never know what type of service or room you're going to end up with, so I honestly don't have many expectations anymore. What I will do, however, is call ahead and hope I reach someone understanding and willing to help.
I called around 9:00 in the morning and spoke with a very nice lady. I believe her name was Krisy, Christy, or Kristen. I explained that I would be arriving early and asked if there was any possibility of checking in early. She told me that she couldn't guarantee it because they had been completely sold out the night before, and the housekeeping staff would first have to make sure the rooms were ready.
She told me to call back around 2:00 p.m. I also asked if she would take my phone number in case something became available, and she kindly took my number, although she never promised that she would call.
I also asked if, should a room become available, she could make sure it wasn't a pet-friendly or smoking room. She explained that they don't allow either, which was perfect for me.
I arrived around 1:30 p.m. When I got there, the lady I had spoken with earlier was no longer there because her shift had ended. I was a little concerned that I might have to wait until the regular check-in time, so I explained to the gentleman at the front desk that I had spoken with her earlier and had requested an early check-in.
He confirmed everything she had honestly told me over the phone. I explained that she hadn't made me any promises and had simply told me to call back at 2:00. I had arrived early because I was already in town.
Well, that gentleman was truly a blessing. He took the time to look and found that two of the five rooms reserved for our group were already ready. He allowed me to check in early, and I thank God for that because I had driven four hours and still had to be set up for the wedding by 4:00 p.m.
The room was clean, very comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the water. Everyone I encountered during my stay was really nice and welcoming.
My only regret is that I didn't get a chance to truly enjoy the room and the environment as much as I would have liked. I was there for work, so my schedule was pretty hectic.
I'm praying that one day I'll be able to come back—not for a gig, but simply to enjoy the rooms, the beautiful surroundings, and the whole environment.
Thank you to the staff at Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge for making my stay a pleasant one. Sometimes it's the little things, like someone taking the time to help when you're tired after a four-hour drive, that make all the difference.

I had a very nice stay here. It was very clean, and nice. I usually hate hotel beds because they make me get a backache. Not here! This was the best night's sleep I had in Months and looking forward to going to sleep tonight in comfort. Big Dex's served a nice breakfast & the shots were fun.

A bit on the small side for the slots and tables, however it is a great venue for shows. Very intimate, all seats are excellent seats for any show

We had a rather unpleasant stay at your Lodge
this past Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the
3rd,4th, & 5th of August. When we arrived and
checked in we wanted to shower and get cleaned
up for the evening after our long drive and there
was no soap in the room. I went to the front desk
and they said they were out but could give me
some Bodywash. When he went to retrieve that
he came back and said they were out of that also.
So, for starters we had to run to a store to get
soap. Addition to that the bathroom door would
not close, it is out of alignment or something and
would not close at all. Thirdly we had to keep a
towel in front of the fridge because of the
condensation creating a puddle on the floor. We
paid extra for a Lakeview room that we could sit
out at as advertised, yet every time we tried there
were sprinklers running spraying water on our
sitting area. We also stayed at the Casino to
enjoy
some gaming not knowing there were no table
games except on weekends. We literally stayed
there for that. We had to travel to Traverse City
area for table games. Just very disappointed. I
like to post reviews when we travel but wanted to
share this with you first, we are not a picky people or
super critical, this stay just had too many issues.

I sent this review publicly because I never received a reply when I initially sent it to the "contact us" link on their website. The generic reply I received from the Google review gave me a number to call. 3 weeks ago, I called the number which put me to the front desk, not customer service. They then sent me to a manager's voice mail. Still no reply from the voicemail I left 3 weeks ago. Horrible Customer Service.
