Avoid This Company – Extremely Poor Business Practices
We had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Kerala Taxi, mainly related to how they handled a deposit we sent in good faith.
After booking driving services and paying a deposit, we had to cancel our trip and notified the company immediately (early December 2024). At that point, we were surprised to be told that we would not receive a full refund—despite no prior disclosure of any such policy before they accepted our payment.
What followed has been over a year of exhausting and unproductive back-and-forth. Since December 2024, we have exchanged more than 120 emails with their representative, Sulekha, trying to recover our money. The company first reduced the refund amount without justification, then added unexpected banking/transaction fees (over $50 USD), leaving us with less than half of our original deposit.
Throughout this entire period (now extending into April 2026), we have been given a constant stream of conflicting explanations—claims that refunds couldn’t be processed to a credit card, that banks were unable to return funds, and other shifting excuses. Each delay led to another, with no real progress or resolution.
This has been incredibly time-consuming and discouraging. Holding onto customer funds for services never provided, while offering inconsistent and unclear explanations, reflects very poorly on their business ethics.
If you are considering using Kerala Taxi, we strongly recommend thinking twice before sending any deposit. Based on our experience, the lack of transparency, accountability, and timely resolution makes this a company we cannot recommend and would never use again.

However, because we value our guests, we chose to waive our policy and worked extensively to recover as much of your deposit as possible from the hotels. The portion of the deposit not returned represents the non-refundable amounts held by those third-party hotels for such a late cancellation.
The delay you experienced was due to the complexities of international bank-to-bank transfers. Had the initial payment been made via credit card through our payment gateway, a refund could have been processed in just a few days. Because it was a bank transfer, we had to navigate heavy documentation and high transaction fees. To save you from losing more money to these bank charges, we offered several alternatives, including:
Immediate transfer to a local Indian contact.
Assisting with a bank chargeback request through your own bank.

I contacted Kerala Taxis to book a cab for my Kerala Trip (19th March to 24th March) but ended taking up package that includes stay in 5 star properties at Munnar, Thekkady and Kochi.
