We had a 5 star experience from start to finish from Mark and his team when organising my dad's funeral. They were happy to do as much or as little as we wanted. They were sensitive and supportive throughout. Mark gave excellent advice about the areas that we weren't sure about, but we never felt pressured to pay for anything we didn't want or need. He was very honest and upfront throughout the whole process. When there was a slight difficulty over dates with the burial ground, Mark went above and beyond to make sure to make sure that it all worked out with minimal inconvenience to the family. We would use them again should the need arise, highly recommend.

Do not use these not a 24/7 service my dad passed away 1am by 4am still couldn't get hold of them had to find another funeral service. Shocking when we had already given his details

I read about Ivor Thomas Funerals in a newspaper article, when I read it was a local company, plus the fact they only did one service a day I was very impressed , ( having been to another funeral in which we were rushed through the whole service as they had another to attend to later) Mark whom my sister and I met to arrange our mothers Simple Cremation was a beam of light to us, he took care of us, as it’s quite traumatic losing a parent , he listened , gave us tissues as needed, and his advice, we also managed to laugh at some of the conversations we had with him, he was there for us 100%, the service and Simple Cremation were perfect for our needs and what we wanted for our mum We will always be thankful for the kindness and support we were given Thank you so much Mark and the Thomas Family🌈

We can not speak highly enough of the service Mark and the team provided. Arranging a funeral when you are at the lowest point you possibly could be losing a loved one is the hardest thing. But Mark did make it easier for us, he took the time to talk to us to understand how we could personalise the service for our son. Nothing was too much trouble and the professionalism, personal care and compassion shown was outstanding. Thank you.

I cannot praise the Ivor Thomas team highly enough. It was a pleasure dealing with all the members of staff right the way through the process of arranging my mother's funeral and the burial of her ashes. Outstanding seamless service at a difficult time I am so glad that I picked up the phone to contact Ivor Thomas Funerals. From initial contact to the conclusion of the funeral service, and subsequent administration matters, the service received from them was exemplary. It has been some years since I have had to arrange a funeral and I felt supported along every step of the way - each detail was explained and each choice illustrated in a very easy to understand way. For Mark Thomas and his amiable team it seemed that no request was too much. My deceased aunt had been living in a care home and Mark and his team took it on themselves to liaise with the home as I am residing overseas. They also contacted a minister to conduct the service and put me in touch with him to agree the order of service. I was also able to arrange directly with them floral tributes for my late aunt. The professionalism of the team at the funeral itself was very evident. All was absolutely stress free; as if I had been used to dealing with them a number of years. I've never had to arrange a funeral before and didn't know where to start but I couldn't recommend Ivor Thomas Funerals enough to anyone. I'd rang a few companies to research and get quotes. After speaking to Marc on the phone, he really put my mind at ease about the whole process and guided me through step by step how the service and buriel would be planned. I instantly felt trust in the company and most importantly, Marc and his team wanted to do what was best for our family. The whole team were really compassionate and understanding throughout every step of the way. I must have called the team around 30-40 times during the weeks leading to my father's funeral. There was never a silly question and I felt comfortable in asking about the finer details of the service, the small things that really matter to you and make a huge difference! Again, Marc and the team were always at hand to help plan the service even to the point of making some changes a couple of days before the service. No job was ever too big or ever too much hassle for the team. The priority was always to ensure that service was how we wanted it to be! The cost of the service was also extremely competitive and the team never once put any pressure on us to upgrade any aspect of the service! I am so glad I found Ivor Thomas funerals. At a time when stepping up to the role of events planner is simply beyond reason, being steeped in grief, disbelief and exhaustion, knowing what to do next and how to do so, and how to do so in the best way possible for your loved ones memory, is one of life's greatest challenges. Just feeding yourself and responding to the umpteen demands from other loved ones awaiting updates is almost impossible. Without an existing funeral plan for my loved one, I was feeling my way around in the dark, whilst also conscious that my father would require very specific rites and treatment which might be tricky to accommodate. I looked around at funeral homes and received cursory quotes from others, but Mark spoke to me like a human bereaved, and elicited my needs in a straightforward but compassionate way. No question or requirement was too difficult, and honestly I'm sure we were quite unusual! For shorthand explanation and to help people searching for a similarly open-minded funeral directors in South Wales, I was looking for a funeral home which could accommodate the needs of the more, lets say "pagan" variety. This is not their espoused niche, but they were absolutely ready to accommodate in a completely non-judgemental way. Trying to accommodate such needs usually means going further afield to a specialist business and also spending several times the amount of money, neither of which was possible. And Ivor Thomas made it unnecessary, giving dad an honourable, respectful and compassionate send off. This is a business steeped in values of inclusivity and transparency. They meet individuals where they are in their journey and whoever you are, whatever your background, you will be welcomed and treated as the unique human being you are. I add this because people searching for more straightforward services will also find this funeral director provides every customer with a human-centred and respectful service. Losing our Mum was a traumatic time and all four of us, her children, felt bereft and at a loss. The funeral and its planning was something we all dreaded, however, Ivor Thomas funerals made the whole procedure as painless as possible. Straight from the first phone enquiry I could tell they had our best interests at heart and nothing was too much trouble. We were carefully and respectfully guided through the funeral plans , there was no hard selling, it was all done incredibly professionally. At our initial meeting with Mark, we entered the office nervously, we were immediately put at ease and we left at the end of the meeting as happy a family as we could be, under the circumstances. We could see they were approachable, they knew their job, and most of all they cared. The options and the pricing was also very well explained and very clear and it was also very affordable. On the funeral day everything was perfect, thanks to the planning and the communication we had with the team. Any changes we had made from the initial meeting were all dealt with as if nothing was too much trouble, they obviously and genuinely just wanted to get it the way we wanted and indeed everything happened as it should— it was respectful, efficient, beautiful , lovely flowers, smartly turned out, all so well organised. Mum would have been so pleased. I hope I do not get involved with too many funerals, but if I do I would have no hesitation in going straight to Ivor Thomas Funerals….I couldn’t recommend them enough, everything was perfect.
