Before arriving to Roatan, I hadn’t done much research of dive shops. This was a last minute trip as I was already on a work trip to Tegucigalpa. I booked the hotel first and that’s how i discovered this dive shop. One of the best I’ve experienced! It was low season with no planned dives, but the staff went out of their way and arranged for a friend and I to go out with them on a training day. From checking with Rose to diving with her, John, Matilda, Luis and the rest of the gang, everything was top notch. Our second dive was amazing, with great visibility, saw lots of turtles and other sea life. Great rental equipment, good boat and super knowledgeable and friendly staff. I hope to return in the near future!

They were very quick with communication and were awesome people to get to know. Conducted about 5 dives with them with my buddy who was just open water certified and me being advanced and we both had an awesome time. Everything in one place - IDC Roatan
IDC is THE place to dive in Roatan, West End. I have been going there for about 3 years now and they always treat me like family. It is so convenient, too, in that you are right on the dock with your equipment ready on the boat for you. When we get back after diving, they also take our equipment. The divemasters are all very well acquainted with the entire reef and strive to give you something new every dive. Beto Ochoa is awesome in that he doesn't hurry and lets you explore. Of course, he always finds great stuff, too. And, Tequila Jack's is right next to the dive center and is a great place for food and refreshments after the dive. Better yet, there are awesome condos and suites to stay in. Effectively, you can stay there, have quick and easy access to Tequila Jack's (and the pool), and yet, be within walking distance to several other establishments.
Island Diving Center was all I hoped it would be.
From Rose in the office always smiling and helpful to Angel the boat captain with his great sense of humor and boating skills. I was welcomed with open arms which was enjoyable
Martina was our dive master and was very personable and knowledgeable of the dive sights Pointing out rays, fish and turtles the entire dive. Very comfortable to dive with
Already scheduled our next trip back in February
It is hard to imagine anything being better than the services provided

We have seen many changes and will tell you that this was one of our best experiences, from the new improvements to the shop and the new team at the facility. From the very first email, Miguel at Island Diving Center was absolutely fantastic. He was quick to respond, professional yet fun, and made the planning process easy and exciting. He even arranged a special welcome gift for our group! Miguel also set up our accommodations at Brisas del Mar for our group of four lady divers, and it was perfect — a beautiful, clean condo right next to the bar and pool. The whole place had such a relaxed, welcoming vibe.
The diving was nothing short of spectacular. Every site felt like diving in a giant aquarium — we saw eagle rays, turtles, massive coral heads, eels, huge crabs, and so much colorful marine life. Our dive master, Beto, greeted us warmly on the day we arrived, set up a fantastic week-long dive plan, and made every dive safe, fun, and unforgettable. A special shoutout as well to Angel, our amazing boat captain for all the dives — fun, professional, and always going above and beyond to help us.
Outside of diving, we couldn’t have asked for better service all around. The concierge team at Brisas del Mar was always friendly and helpful, making everything from transport to recommendations seamless. And we have to mention Alex at Tequila Jacks Bar & Grill — he quickly went from being our favorite waiter and bartender to a true friend by the end of the week.
We can’t recommend Island Diving Center, the crew, Brisas del Mar accommodations, and this incredible location enough. Already dreaming of our next trip back!

Island Diving Center (IDC) was conveniently located at the Brisas hotel we were staying, or, better said, we stayed at Las Brisas in order to dive with IDC. IDC staff, divemaster (Hey Beto!!) and Captain James were absolutely great to dive with. They took us to great dive sites - all within easy rides from the dock - and guided us to beautiful reef formations teeming with sea life. Beto was a wizard - finding eels and crabs hidden in crevasses I would not have thought could house them - even spotting a stonefish that was practically invisible. A great night dive was also in store for us - octopus included. Great dives, great staff, great dive center. Why dive with anyone else?

Awesome Experience with Island Diving Center
We had the best experience with Island Diving Center. It started with Melody working out a deal for a dive and stay package. Stayed at Brisas Del Mar. IDC is located on property making everything very convenient. Had amazing dives with dive master /guide , Beto Ochoa. He is a rock star. He can find all types of wildlife. Very knowledgeable, safe, and experienced. Our boat captain Angel got us to and from the dive sites safely and quickly. Everyone is super friendly. I have to say that Beto is the sole reason why we will return to dive with Island Diving Center.
I dove with IDC for 4 days in March-2025. The experience was outstanding! IDC has a great crew, including boat captains and divemasters. Their equipment is excellent, in case you need to rent. They know the Roatan dive-sites in great detail, and they went out of their way to give me a great diving experience. I obtained my Open Water Certification with Erin Dodd. She shared extensive knowledge, and I always felt safe diving with her. The dive-shop is right next to the hotel, so it was extremely easy to leave my hotel room in the morning, and walk to the dock in 5 minutes. I'm planning to dive with IDC again, and I would definitely recommend the dive-shop to new and experienced divers. Thanks again to Erin, she's awesome!!!
