An excellent place—truly beyond expectations. The food was unique and memorable, with very reasonable pricing. I would highly recommend it. Special thanks to Chong San for the outstanding service, which really made the experience exceptional.

Incredible - simple dishes done with fresh ingredients, good technique and great service. We particularly enjoyed the garlic fried rice, the prawn tempura, the chicken fillet tempura and the eggplant + tomato tempura. Great place and would highly recommend.

One of the smaller izakaya style with probably <20 seats so better to call in or get a reservation! Very nice vibe and cozy area, they have a recommended omakase menu too if you're too lazy to decide what you want! We ordered a lot of different dish and the batter for tempura is very thin but yet crispy. This feels like despite deep frying, they still let you enjoy the freshness and real taste of the ingredients unlike fast food places that serve tempura don. Do take note that dinner might overrun as they fry all the order upon order and they hardly mix the different ingredients in.

We are regulars and absolutely love this restaurant! It’s intimate and all the seats are counter seats so you can watch the chefs showcase their culinary skills. Reservations are a must, as they are almost always fully booked. The tempura is fresh and the batter is so light, crispy and not oily! We also always get the oysters and sashimi which are really fresh! They have prawn ramen on certain days only, and you’re in for a treat if it’s available. We haven’t had a single bad dish from this place! Highly recommend!

Was looking for a good tempura place with the kind with fresh/almost white batter and was recommended this place by a Japanese! The tempura is at a higher price point but is nice! I really enjoyed the sakutto Ebi, Hokkaido pork and pork belly asparagus tempura. They were very crispy on the outside and so fresh on the inside. The meat tempura was a new experience and delicious! It was also my first time trying an Ebi tempura where you can eat the head.. it was very crispy and nice! The garlic fried rice was fragrant and good for sharing too. As mentioned in a previous review, tempura does takes a while to cook and is served one-by-one so do order the tempura first when you reach. Overall it’s a nice experience to try! The service by the Japanese lady and Chinese bespectacled man was very warm and attentive as well.

This place has over average tempura but might take some time to be served as the pot to deep fry is bit small. And not that affordable too. Try to order tapas or cold dishes as tastes quite good. The star of this restaurant is alcohol especially Shochu. Tons of variety to choose from and absolutely amazing. You can ask Yukiko-san who is in charge of alcohol for recommendation. If you are curious to try new kind of alcohol or Shochu lover, worth to try!

The food was actually pretty good but this was probably the worst meal I've had in recent memory. Reservation was for 7:30pm, we ordered by 7:45pm. Other than our cold starters (the gizzard salad and drunken red prawn), we didn't get any tempura items until after 9pm. It took 90 minutes for us to be served any hot food. And when we did get our food, there were 2-3 items that were forgotten, and we eventually asked to cancel the remaining 3-4 items that we weren't willing to wait for. (These items hadn't even been started on, mind you. We specifically asked about each item before cancelling.) When the bill came, the items we cancelled, and the items that were forgotten and never served (and never called back when we asked what was outstanding) were still on the bill. Also. Cockroaches. A lot of cockroaches. Cockroach on the rice cooker in front of us. Cockroaches on the dining counter. We counted at least 3 different cockroaches during our meal. We know they were different because the cook killed one after we pointed it out. We killed one after it scurried across the counter in front of us. We saw another one scurrying away after that. If you were wondering why we cancelled our orders instead of waiting? Some of our party having an overwhelming fear of cockroaches and just being unable to bear being seated there any longer than they had to. If you're still willing to consider going despite all that, we had the following items, all as tempura: tiger prawn, ankimo, shitake with bacon, maitake, chicken, oden daikon, sweet corn, tile fish. The ankimo and daikon stood out for me, though the ankimo might not be for everyone. The tile fish was a surprisingly generous portion, and the vegetables were all done very well. Which is all a pity really because. Well. Everything else.

This price for this food quality very not worth. Paid $300 over for 2 person without alcohol. Just a normal tempura. Suggest if Looking for some tapas with alcohol. Dont go for meal. Maybe $100-150 ok for this meal.

Every visit here is delightful. I would not compare Tokyo standards to a Japanese restaurant in Singapore simply because Singapore does not have the produce at low costs to serve at Tokyo prices. The team here work passionately to serve their customers and strive to give their best. I love the salt options and not at outrageous Omakase prices like some starred restaurants in Singapore. Will continue to bring friends and family to this restaurant. Gambatte!

Had a great night here with friends from out of town—tempura so good, we briefly considered moving in. The staff was awesome, keeping us well-stocked on high balls and laughs all night. It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the company are equally enjoyable, but this spot nailed it. Perfect for when you want a crispy bite and a good time. Highly recommend—just don’t ask how many high balls we had!
